Just curious, why is Rough Country avoided? I read some great reviews on it, just find it surprising.

Great reviews?? Their products are no good. Their quality is in the basement. The only good review you good give is that their stuff isent expensive.

You get what you pay for, some guys have RC, do light wheeling and it works fine. Most complains I hear are bushings wearing out, leafs/coils sagging quickly and just overall strength.

Those great reviews are from people who don't know better because they don't have anything else to compare it to. RC sells low quality components and half-complete kits, and their customer service is hit-or-miss. They're one of the biggest companies because they're one of the cheapest. There's a reason why they're one of the cheapest: Their equipment is cheap. I've also personally had them lie to me about products on the phone in order to make a sale.

I don't support RC for the above reasons, and I don't support Rusty's Offroad because of his company's history and the way Rusty has treated me on the phone.

I recommend Zone Offroad, Iron Rock Offroad, and Rubicon Express for the majority of buyers.

I appreciate your candidness. I'll be checking out the companies you mentioned...how about OME lifts? Looking into that 3 inch one as well.

OME is outstanding. A little pricey, but great quality. Last time I looked, their tallest lift was 2". Perhaps I'm out of the loop in that regard?

I have 3" OME lift in the garage. So yes they make it I think this set is about 3 years old

I have OME under mine and I really like it! They don't actually make "lifts" they make "suspension systems". The OME components are coils, leafs, and shocks. Everything else is other companies to make a "lift kit".

I don't have part numbers on hand, but one coil is a 1.75" lift (I have this one with a 1.75" spacer on top for 3.5" total). Or you can get the ZJ coils which I think will give 2.5" of lift. They also have 2 different leaf springs for the XJ. One is 3.5" lift and the other is 4.5" lift. You can remove the middle leaf on both to get around 2.5" and 3.5", and this will also soften up the ride out back.

My XJ is gonna turn into a "frankenstein/custom" lift and I'll only have the leafs, but it's not because I'm unhappy with any of their stuff.

Also, to add because I don't know your budget, I'm gonna recommend the MetalCloak 3.5" lift. A little more expensive, but a pretty complete kit and I've heard nothing but good things about it. Plus you can go with their "ARB" version and you'll get OME leaf springs and shocks.

The OME rear leafs are standard in both of the kits. The "ARB" version is referring to the shocks only.

Thanks very much for the feedback. That MetalCloak looks badass but it's a bit out of my budget (I'm a teacher haha).

all of the four jeeps in my family have rustys products... had several instances where we had to call customer service, never had an issue. products are great and last. only had one track bar connection that bent and they fixed the issue and sent a customized replacement for free.

I'm looking for a very modest lift, enough to fit 30x9.5 tires so the RE Economy Lift looks to fit my needs not to mention budget.

However, they offer two variations -
one with a "Rear Add-a-Leaf":

Is there a big difference choosing one over the other? If it helps, my rear leaf springs look pretty flat, worn out, and slightly rusted. Maybe I could replace those at a later time.
