I have looked at those and always hear about great things. Are you talking about these ones though? http://www.4wheelparts.com/Tires/Max...FQaHaQodB_EBgw For the 33s they do go up to 192 which isnt bad by any means. And as well as i have a 3inch lift on my xj full leaf replace not add a leaf could i squeeze in some 33s with maybe one inch wheel spacers or do i have to start cutting the finder?

I see. They are decent price and seem more aggressive. Plus they handle great in snow by these reviews and don't cake up by some mud. Thinking ill grab these in 31s. Thanks guys.

Honestly i am new to the offroad jeep world. My father is huge into with a 97 tj lifted 6.5 inches with 38s under it and a ton of other things. But i am just getting into it. I will do more off roading when it is only the toy/winter vehicle but what would be a decent winter/trail tire in 31s. or even 33s if i decide to cut the fenders.

If I run 31x10.5x15 tires on a RE 3.5" lift, will 3.61 be enough backspacing for the rim? If not, can anyone recommend chrome bullet hole rims with the right backspacing?

is running -44 offset worth the extra strain on the ball joints and everything just to have a slightly wider stance with 15x8s?

EDIT: Actually that's probably wrong. I don't think I thought it through in my head enough. 3 hours of sleep is killin me.

If I did my math right, thats just a little more than 2cm difference compared to a 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing. You really think you'd even notice that difference?

If you meant +44, it won't fit. If it's really -44, you're gonna eat ball joints like candy.
Also, I don't know of any offroad-capable wheels with such a deep dish. I've only seen them for drag cars, and those wheels aren't rated for the amount of weight that we apply in off-camber situations

"A little over 2cm" is almost an inch. That's a huge difference in this application.

Are you sure they weren't 10" wide wheels? I know they make those, but I've never seen -44 in an 8" wide wheel for an SUV

leaf springs
To start, I think this is where thiis goes... if not I apologize.
Anyway, the simple question I have is what are the strongest leafs that can be installed on a 99xj? Most weight baring?
thanks!

That would be custom made ones, but I think you really don't want the strongest ones (made for heavy weight) it will ride like a lumber wagon but the best on a budget for a lift, correct? You need to consider the weight ratings for an XJ for starters.
