31x10.5 15 is the most popular 31 inch tire for cherokees.

I think he means the metric size? If so, it'd be 265/75/15.

I found bilstein 5100s for $280 for all 4(seemed a little fishy). I'd like to stay around $200, or should I save up to $280 for the bilstein? Any others you'd recommend?
I don't think 5100s are long enough?

edit: was thinking of the wrong shock...I would save for bilstein

Ok, so riddle me this... I've had a wobble (not death wobble) between like 45 & 55mph for a bit. Sounds like unbalanced tires, right? But why (if it IS a balancing issue) would it be almost non existent after my jeep has sat for a while (say all weekend), then get progressively worse as the week goes on until it "maxes" out? Not so server I can't drive.

It sounds crazy, but I've been noticing this for a while now. I can feel the wobble above 55, but it's minor. Between 45 & 55mph steering wheel shakes pretty good, but then nothing below that.

Sorry for the long post. I'm really just throwing this out there to see if anyone else has had this experience. Obviously I plan on doing some noggin pokin, just need some nice weather.

I don't have a good, technical answer for that, but imbalanced tires can do a lot of weird things. Trust me. I had a crazy one last year where a front end wobble made the Jeep's body sway back and forth while the suspension stayed straight. It would start as a very minor sway, and the amplitude would increase until the vehicle was being thrown left-and-right so quickly and violently that I was worried about tipping over while driving in a straight line. I rotated my tires, and it turned into a mild annoying shimmy that would go away after a few hundred feet of driving.

I would definitely start by balancing the tires. It might not solve the problem, but it's never a bad thing to do. Rotating the tires may (or may not) cause a change in behavior and give you an indication of whether balancing will help.

Yeah, it's definitely weird. I won't go into detail, but I've had balancing issues with these OG BFG's, and I think they've worn like crap. I've had them balanced probably 4 or 5 times in a year and a half and still wobble. It very well could be something else, but I feel like if it was a mechanical things (bad bushing, worn part, etc.) it would be more consistent. Every couple days the jeep rides like its on rails.

Can't wait for some nice weather. I have stuff that needs sorting out. Weathers lookin decent this weekend. Fingers crossed.

I have to ask, have you had them RoadForce balanced?

Is it the same place balancing them every time? Maybe try taking them to a different tire shop if so.

Alright I am very indecisive,

I have done a decent amount of research on 3" lifts with full leaf packs. Some swear by these companies and others wont touch anything made by them.

I am now stuck between,

Rustys:
http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-...-pack-kit.html

Zone:
http://zoneoffroad.com/zone-offroad-...erokee/j21-j22

RC:
http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-sus...t-kit-630.html

I am not very concerned about the front parts because it seems like they are all decent. I am concerned about the rear leaf packs, the last thing I want to do is install the lift and have the rear sag in a week. I don't do any crazy off-roading, just the occasional power line trail and the beach.

Does anyone have experience with any of these kits and are they any good?

Zone, then Rusty's or Rubicon Express instead of Rough Country.

The fact that they wore funny may be throwing off their balance. Ok the machine they may be ok, but after awhile they will come out of balance again. Now, why did they wear funny? In most cases it has to do with them being thrown off by another part on the vehicle.

1) Rubicon Express (not on your list)
2) Zone
3) Of those options, Rusty's

I never recommend Rough Country even as a last-place option.

Road Force machines balance them at driving speed and are far more accurate than traditional static balancing. But yes, something is wrong if they didn't wear correctly

Unfortunately not. Was unaware of it at the time, but totally will be this time around. I found an AEV right by my work and they have RF machines. I'm gonna take my Duratracs and new wheels there. Just gotta get off my ***. I'm actually delaying it because I'm thinking about trimming my fenders this spring and grabbing some 33's.

Been to 3 or 4 different places.

Damn sticky weights kept falling off.

Yes I know that. But if they have already worn in an odd fashion, the balance will not last long. Road force only puts the tire for a small period of time. Once you get on the road and log some miles, the fact that the tread is worn unevenly will eventually throw the balance off as the tire is momentarily "corrected" until that uneven wear pattern catches up and makes the tires unbalanced again.

I've heard great things about rubicon express, they only make a 3.5 inch kit not a 3. Can I expect any problems with that extra half-inch? Will I need a t case drop and things like that? My jeep has 180k on it so I kind of want to take it easy on the steering and stuff.
