Well in that case I'll run 265/70r16 on 16x8 wheels with 4.5" of bs. I found this video on YouTube and he has the exact same setup and it does fine when flexing. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Oubpl1TcXeo

Check your knuckles where the brake caliper mounts to. Common problem is that the brake pads wear a groove in the metal on the caliper brackets and the pads will literally "stick" once they enter the groove. Solution is to heat the bracket, weld it, and grind it smooth.

Interesting thought. I'll check into that. You wouldn't have a pic of what that looks like by chance?

If you take off your wheel and look at where the caliper mounts on the knuckle, it should rest on an edge that's cast into the knuckle. That should be flat/smooth. If there's any sort of dip or curvature, it's because the pads have worn a groove into the knuckle

Default First time lift/ need advice

Hey everyone,
So ive been saving for a 3 inch lift, tires, and wheels.
I really don't know much about tires or anything so if anyone could send me a link on what they think i should purchase that would be really helpful. Neighbor sold me his all stock 2000 xj for pretty cheap so ive been trying to work on a little project with it. I can install the lift myself but everything else has me lost. Thanks guys

To anyone running Rustys 3" leafs, I'm just curious how they hold up in the long run. I know their customer service blows, but I'm curious if theyve gotten better with their product

Really help to know what you want to use it for.

Mall crawler?
Weekend wheeler?
Trail only rig?

What do you deal with? Mud, snow, sand, rocks?

Mine weren't that bad but starting to form a groove so I just used a file to level it out. Seems to be working so far and also keeping some high temp brake grease on them too.

i for sure deal with snow. I'm sure eventually I'll do some trailing with it. For the most part I like the look of XJs with a bit of some lift.

Default Rear axle alignment after installing lift??

hey guys, I have been installing a bastard leaf spring pack from an s10 the past two days on and off on my 1993 cherokee, and have had zero problems until now. I've gotten one side completely put in and done, but on the driver side I've got the leaf springs bolted in but I can't get the axle to line up. The axle seems to be tilted to the left(towards front) a good 4 inches. And no matter what I do I can't get it to budge. I've connected ratchet straps and tried pulling it and I've even hooked up my other car to see if I could get it to move at all. But nothing is working and instead of the axle moving forward the entire jeep moves.(tires drag and everything). I was supposed to get the new tires on today but had to cancel because I couldn't get this figured out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
