Going with RE everything seems like the way to go. JKS might be a good option too but I think I will stick with RE.
You’re right, 1660 looks right.

Your donor looks like it has seen better days but at least you took what you needed from it to essentially revive it into another body! Do you have your axles locked? Or did you have it welded? Or they just OE

Looks like i have D30 upfront which is probably common and 3.55 gearing in the rear axle which will work I think but might have to regear to 4.10 with 33"

Dana 30 is the only front axle option, the rear is the one you’ll probably want to swap unless it’s a dana 44. I have 4.56 with an auto trans and 33s. I have an air Locker front and a lunch box in the rear.

Actually yours looks like it has had some mods done too it already? If so it may have been regeared already. Easy to tell when you get your hands on it. Jack it up, mark the tire, and slowly spin it around one revolution while counting how many times the driveline spins around the same point you marked on it. You might get lucky.

When I do that spin and counting the times the driveline spins what exactly should I be looking for? I just assume that even though it has a small lift on it, was a budget lift most likely and figured no one took the time to regear. Would be great if they did though

If you have 3.55 gears with one revolution of the tire the mark on the drive shaft will make 3 1/2 revolutions.

Yep, and if it turns four and a half times he is set with what he wants.

What Earl said. Remember... this was a junkyard truck. Free "exchange parts" if they were energetic enough to do it.

I haven't been following Irish's posts. Does he know how the rear is geared?

That is why I'm on here to ask the million dumb questions now before I get home and dive into something I have no idea what I'm doing. You guys all have been a great help so far, thank you!

You are 100% right I'm chopping at the bit to get my hands dirty. I love this stuff and can't wait to get home not only to spend some quality time with my wife and kids after being gone for 6 months but to also pick up my Jeep and bring her back to life.

Default Tie rod, drag link, what?

i’ve bought a lifted XJ and it was wrecked from the driver’s side quite drastically. This is my first jeep that is lifted and 4X4 so I don’t know what to do exactly. I repaired the jeep slowly but the one thing I noticed was the drag link(?) is small. I haven’t put the jeep on the road because I fear that this will become loose. It looks like the tie rod is either too short or the drag link (marked in red) is short. The thing that is marked in blue seems to be in bad shape as well. I searched everywhere for answers and I could not find any.
