Question

What does everyone think about the company Zone for lift kits? If I got the 3 inch for my 97 cherokee do you think I would be able to run 33s?

zone is a highly recommended option....the biggest tire you'll fit on a 3 inch lift without trimming is a 31

Not a bad thing to do but I really don't know how much you would need. You could piece together a 3" lift and still cut fenders some and probably be okay. I know my rig before I went to 4.5" lift and now soon 33" tires I was sitting on 32x11.50x15 and had plenty of room but my fenders were cut and folded. I bought it like that though so not sure how much they really cut.

Your also going to need to pay attention to your back spacing on your wheels so you don't rub. Those 33's at a 12.50 width are wide and most likely rub on full lock or less on stock wheels.

I wouldn't say "massive"... remember, I was running 31's on mine with no lift and trimmed to the final lip. If he trimmed to the final lip and bumpstopped enough, he could do it..... wouldn't have much uptravel though.

All that being said, I'd still wait for at least a 3.5" lift. You can find components at the junk yard to give you enough lift for 33's.

x2 very highly recommended. And you can only fit 33's if you trim.

"Massive" may have been a bit hyperbolic. I was running 33s on mine with 3" of lift, and I had to cut pretty far back so the tires didn't rub the fenders when I turned. It wasn't as much as cutting as running 37s on 2" of lift, but it was significant

True, but you also had 15x10" wheels on it too, didn't you? I seem to remember the tires sticking out A LOT.

Yes, but they were contacting near the center of the tires

You can cut the lower part of the fender in a way that doesnt look cut if your BS is right

Default Brake lines too short for lift?

Hello,

I have a 95 Cherokee Country. I recently got a Rough Country 3" lift with replacement leaf springs. The front and passenger rear was easy enough but I haven't been able the get the driver rear spring in. There is a brake line manifold glued to the rear axle on the driver side as shown in the photo. I can't lower the axle far enough to get the new leaf spring on because the lines on the front and top of the brake manifold are too short. I would like to avoid messing with the brake lines. I haven't been able to find anything about brake lines being too short in other posts. Anybody had this issue before?

Thanks!

If you pull the line off the top of the junction block you can slide a wrench on and unscrew it and the block will come off the axle. You should get longer brake lines though. A stock yj rear line is good for 3" lift. Breaking a brake line isn't fun, and when you think about it you are increasing the distance from body to axle so shouldn't you increase the length of the brake line going from body to axle?

Default Nitto Grapplers

Anyone had much luck with these on an XJ? Probably a 31/10.50 on some Cragar 15s

Which ones? Nittos are extrememly over priced and over rated for what you get.

I'm new to the Jeeps. What tire would you recommend for around town and some light aggression.
