I just measured it and it is 2". I want to put on old f150 coils and a 4" puck then match the back with a bastard pack. and longer shocks.

Good lord! Don't do that (the 4" puck). Why would you do that? Do 4" pucks even exist? They shouldn't.

You can fit 33s on a 2" lift. You'll need to trim as much as you can/willing to do and bumpstop it. Since you already plan to add longer shocks, you should get some decent down travel even though you won't have much up travel from the small lift. It'll handle better though in all situations.

Been there! As far as I've read, older F150 coils (from the late 70s I think) can provide around 4" of lift - which would be great for 33s. That way, you won't need to run a coil spacer (which would ultimately limit your suspensions travel). A bastard pack with those shackles you already have would likely match the coils too - so not too bad for a junkyard lift.

Hi everyone this is my first question so go easy on me. I am not car savvy so I am not quite sure every part and what it does so bare with me. I just got a 1995 XJ and am going to lift it and throw on new tires. I am wondering at what heights of lift will I have to replace certain components? What components will I have to replace for a 1”, 2”, 3”, 3.5”, 4”, 4.5” 5” and 6” lift. I’m not sure if there is a direct answer but anything helps. Thanks.

Hi all - Looking to purchase a 92 XJ Laredo with a 4" rough country lift kit. I can see the leafs have already been done, and it clearly has shocks and springs. I noted the steering was exceptionally sloppy on the test ride, and I'm looking to get insight on things I can get ordered to work on eliminating this once I own it this Friday. Any parts specifically I should ask about "has this been done" and what specific things should I be looking for. For a 4" lift, is a SYE required? I see this handy chart above, do you have some links to your go to replacements on these components you recommend?

I figured it was better to rebuild and improve the one I had rather than grab a cheap rebuild that has had who knows what done to it in some shoddy rebuild facility

My first post here, or on any Jeep forum. I'm new to the Cherokee world, having just purchased a 1993 4dr XJ, 4.0L automatic 4x4. The old girl has 277k miles on the original drivetrain, almost all on pavement. It's got a 2" economy lift and 16" Moab package wheels, otherwise stock. We intend to tow it behind our motorhome, and do some mild off-road trails. No rock crawling, fording rivers, or dune running. We plan to change the bumpers, with the front shackle mounts being used for towbar attachment and the rear bumper carrying the spare and Jeep cans. The rear leaf springs are sagging, one of the front shocks is shot.
The good news is it passed smog with flying colors. Had my mechanic give it a thorough inspection, and I'll have it home soon. It's due for new tires, and I'm considering BFG T/A KO2s. We have them on my '07 Tundra, my wife's '12 Sequoia, and our '95 YJ, and are happy with them. Size to be determined by what we end up with for lift.
I'm thinking of replacing the rear leafs with some that will lift it without blocks, Moog CC782 springs in front, and replacing all the shocks - but am also considering trashing that and going to the Rough Country 3" Jeep Series II Suspension Lift Kit with Leaf Springs - 630XN2 for $669.95. I'm hoping for some advice from those who have been there and done that (or have done something else and liked the result). We want a trail cruiser with a decent ride. The YJ with a 2.5" lift has not fit the bill, it's one stiff,harsh ride, capable of going just about anywhere but making us wish we hadn't . We want to avoid making a similar error with this one.

IMO you can’t go wrong with rubicon express springs. I think your biggest decision to make at this point is whether or not to go past 2 inches. To do 3”s or more properly can get expensive. My advice would be, don’t get in a hurry and do it right the first time. Research is your friend.
And yes those leaf springs in the front of a YJ will make you feel like you’ve been riding a horse all day. 😆

Sitting on a 3" lift I'm pretty sure as my front coils are 15"
The front looks to sit around an 1 1/2" lower than the rear.
would an 1 3/4" coil spacer level the front with the rear

x2 on RE springs. I just installed 5.5 XJ Springs on my ZJ which is supposed to be 4-4.5" for ZJ according to Rubicon Express' website. I was on a 3.5" lift on 31's. The front used to be 1" lower than the rear because I went with a Front to Rear Spring Swap. But due to the original coils being the UpCountry Springs, that brought my rear to 4.5" instead of 3.5". Basically what I'm saying is agreeing with the above quote. Don't get too excited and be n a hurry because it will cause more work in the end. I must say, I am pretty content now. Waiting for my ZJ Winch plate to come in on Monday.​​​​​​​

Is it worth going up to 33” tires on the stock gear ratio? I have 31’s on right now and I’m wondering it’s it’s worth going up. And would I also need to trim the fender going to 33’s on a 3.5 inch lift?
