It's something you could wait and see but you can get one from rusty's offroad for like 20 bucks so you may want to just be prepared

Default different wheels

Hi guys, I recently bought a 2000 jeep xj with 36000 actual miles. It's too nice of a truck to lift and make a mud truck out of it, maybe later on in it's life it will be.

But anyways my question was i'm putting a set of 16 inch wheels on it and still would like to put a decent size tire on it. It will be a A/T tire i'm sure but would anyone have the slightest idea of what tire size i can run..?

Everything is stock right now and the wheel i'm putting on it is 16 x 8 with 4.84 inch of backspacing. I know websites like tirerack reccomend sizes but i've seen reccomended sizes that could've been bigger. Any help would be greatly appreciated.!

Likely a 30" tire will be about all you can do without lifting or trimming

It maybe too nice for a mud truck but nothing is too nice to lift.

30" or 235's will fit without lift

With a 16" Rim, a 255/65R16 is about the max you can run without a lift (roughly the equivalent of a 235/75R15)

I think I'm gonna do the RC lift now instead of Rustys. Thoughts? I'm not sure if I need adjustable LCAs though especially if I'm running long arms in the future.

What is it that needs to be relocated when doing a 3 inch lift? I heard that I had to drill new holes for something like the trac bar or sway bar or something.

I didn't have relocate anything. Just straightened out my front brake lines to make them a bit longer.
