Looking at bumping to 35s on mine...I already have a zj tierod, adj lowers and tracbar, 5" front and 3" rear.
Parts so far
Ford 8.8 lsd with 4.88s rebuilt like 6 months ago
D30 4.88s 760x ujoints stock shafts and I have a set of spares
Treadwright 315/75R16 gaurddogs on 16x8 w/ 4.5" backspacing
Shackles
Is there anything else anyone can think of? Plan is to leave the front open and keep stock shafts.

thanks converted96, and sorry forgot to mention my jeep. I have a 98xj 4.0l with 235/75/15 tires. The reason i want a 2in lift is because i mostly do on road/ highway driving and sometimes over the weekends i take it off roading. Again nothing to serious as it is my daily driver. I just want some more clearance while going over hills.
Thanks for mentioning all the options I have, and i agree with you if i get a 2in lift i will probably want to go higher. This got me thinking i dont want to shell out alot of money on a 2in complete lift and then buy another full 3in lift. So then i thought about the 2in budget boost. Like you said spacers up front and shackles in the back, or maybe buy longer springs for the front and shackles for the back. As stock shocks should be fine with 2in lift you mentioned.
hmm.. tough decision i got to make
Lastly im looking to get drings with bracket up front and a hitch in the back. Now bare with me its my first car im still learning on it. In order to install them do i have to drill any custom holes in the frame or are they already pre drilled ?

i found this one on ebay for 180, seems all of them come with 3in springs for the front. Would i need longer shocks for this kit ?

as you can see you have the 3 holes in a triangle, which is where the bumper mounts too already on the unibody. and the bolt hole at the rear of the bracket SHOULD be there already, it was in my 96, i just got a 1/2" Grade 8 3 1/2inch long bolt to run through, but that kit should have all the hardware with it. there is really no where to attach D-Rings up front. unless of course on a custom bumper.
Rear Hitch is fine for a recovery point, and they even sell a D-Ring receiver. If you dont have a hitch, go to advanceauto.com and check out the Curt hitch, its 130, and if you enter the code BIG35 at checkout, it will take 35 off an 85 buck order, so you can bring the hitch to 95 bucks, and you get free shipping when you spend 75. I just put this hitch on a few days ago as i replaced the hitch i had. i really like it and it tucks closer to the rear bumper.
On to the lift you posted... I dont know about that. its 180, and they are 3 inch springs with 1.5 or 2" shackles, since they are adjustable. pair that up with leaf springs that have x amount of miles and you are probably going to sit higher in the front for sure.
The cheapest 3" i think you can get would be this... the one I showed you earlier for 255, comes with shocks, cause if you got that other, you would be looking at 130 for shocks, on top of 180... that 310.

The only thing this kit doesnt come with is new U-Bolts, which run about 30 bucks, you will need these. Also since you have a 98, good chance you might need to throw in a TC drop, heck i have read people at 2 needing it, its just jeep to jeep, you wont know till you drive it afterword. I think going with a AAL would be better than just a shackle. From there if you get sag or whatever you can add shackles later to level it out for like 50 bucks.
At 3 your stock tires might look a little weird with the clearance, you can go 31's on there, or even 30's would probably look better with the lift.
And wheels can be had pretty cheap, i got 4 black cragars from summit for 230 shipped.
Anyway thats my input on it. maybe someone else can chime in their opinion here as well.

wow man thanks for all that info and help. For the recovery points i didint know i cant get drings unless i have a custom bumper. I have looked at these hooks before.

Will these be fine Thanks for that hitch info i will check that out.
Again thanks for clearing everything up for me. As for the lift i think ima hold off on it until i get more money. That way il do it once but right. The reason i was thinking 2in is like you said i think the tires would look funny on a 3in lift. I just recently bought them so i would have to wait it out until i buy some bigger ones.
For now il just get the hooks and hitch as i need them no matter what.

Yeah that hook setup is the same as quadratecs. I'm on my phone and didn't check to see if it comes with hardware though, but that would only run 6 bucks or so.

i just got a set of the older style rough country adjustable control arms, and the lowers at one end the bushing is offset of the arm im just curious of what way to put them in? im thinking that end goes on the axle so it has more room from the mount bracket, any help would be great thanks
