9.5" of lift? Geez... You'll need to get one of those stickers that says, "Lift it, fat chicks can't jump." You'll have to run 40" tires and beef up the 4.0 or V8 swap for all that....

I was hoping that if I lined up the U bolts and snugged them up, that when I dropped off the jack stands it would sit itself in. Didn't work out as planned. They are still in the same spot. I lined the holes up the best I could, but it seems like the pins are larger than the stock holes. It looks great, but there is a bit of a gap in the front due to the shim in the bottom of the leaf perch.

Anybody have any suggestions to get this worked out? Anybody else have this problem. I am kind of stuck as this happened on both sides and I have been working on this for exactly a week everyday after work. I am ready to drop it off at the mechanic on Monday, but I would really like to get this worked out myself so I figured I would ask everybody here who has probably had the same problems themselves.

Thanks guys!
Mine had that problem, and I just left it alone.

I have a question about the rear sway bar. When I installed my lift almost 3 years ago, I attached the rear sway bar back like stock not thinking anything of it. Does the rear s.b. limit the travel of my rear axle/suspension and also, can it cause the leaf springs to sag? I installed brand new leaf packs from rusty's. Also, is it safe to disconnect it entirely and drive it like that? It's my DD and I don't want to be unsafe since I have an 18 m/o daughter.

if in doubt, use a tape measure...adjust so it's equal on both sides

Is it going to pose any issues in the long run? There is like a 1/4 inch gap in the front but the back is in place. I am worried that it is going to throw off the driveline angles and give me vibrations.

Hmm I'm running with no sway bar front and rear, and no problems (3.5/4) lift DD.

But I'm 18 and dont have an 18 m/o daughter...I feel like it shouldnt be a problem if your not driving like an inbred..which you should be doing.period.with kids in the car. haha

Your lift is going to do that not the 1/4 gap. Althought in a little over 4 days my gap is gone. I thing its just a matter of it pushing threw the little whole. but Idk

Thanks man. I was hoping that it was going to work its way in. My major concern is that because of he shim, the driveline angles are off and when I saw your post about vibrations I was thinking that may have been a potential cause of that. A 1/4 inch may not seem like much, but I see it as a few degrees that could make a difference with vibrations, especially if the rear of the shim is touching and the front is up the 1/4 inch causing the shaft on the diff to be parallel to the ground.

I've got a question! Just did a rough country 4.5" lift on my 98 XJ. After I did the t-case drop and took it for a test drive the damn things vibrates while in gear and standing still. Not liking it at all. Tempted to remove the t-case drop kit. Anyone have any thoughts or advise?

I have no sway bars on either of my jeeps...both ride fine, yes it has a little more sway(obviously) but its plenty safe and drivable...never had a fear one that it may tip around corners at higher speed(its a jeep, you shouldn't expect to take corners extremely fast and it be safe with or without sway bars)...and might i say she flexes so much better without

Mine hasn't had sway bars since I lifted it a while back now either. It just made a trip down to houston (2k miles) without an issue.
