Hello all! I have just finished installing my Rough Country 3" lift with Performance 2.2 shocks and steering stabilizer. I have been having a lot of problems with the leaf springs and for some reason the pins don't line up with the holes on the axle. I was hoping that if I lined up the U bolts and snugged them up, that when I dropped off the jack stands it would sit itself in. Didn't work out as planned. They are still in the same spot. I lined the holes up the best I could, but it seems like the pins are larger than the stock holes. It looks great, but there is a bit of a gap in the front due to the shim in the bottom of the leaf perch.
Anybody have any suggestions to get this worked out? Anybody else have this problem. I am kind of stuck as this happened on both sides and I have been working on this for exactly a week everyday after work. I am ready to drop it off at the mechanic on Monday, but I would really like to get this worked out myself so I figured I would ask everybody here who has probably had the same problems themselves.
Thanks guys!

I have a question about the rear sway bar. When I installed my lift almost 3 years ago, I attached the rear sway bar back like stock not thinking anything of it. Does the rear s.b. limit the travel of my rear axle/suspension and also, can it cause the leaf springs to sag? I installed brand new leaf packs from rusty's. Also, is it safe to disconnect it entirely and drive it like that? It's my DD and I don't want to be unsafe since I have an 18 m/o daughter.

if in doubt, use a tape measure...adjust so it's equal on both sides

Hmm I'm running with no sway bar front and rear, and no problems (3.5/4) lift DD.
But I'm 18 and dont have an 18 m/o daughter...I feel like it shouldnt be a problem if your not driving like an inbred..which you should be doing.period.with kids in the car. haha

Thanks man. I was hoping that it was going to work its way in. My major concern is that because of he shim, the driveline angles are off and when I saw your post about vibrations I was thinking that may have been a potential cause of that. A 1/4 inch may not seem like much, but I see it as a few degrees that could make a difference with vibrations, especially if the rear of the shim is touching and the front is up the 1/4 inch causing the shaft on the diff to be parallel to the ground.

I've got a question! Just did a rough country 4.5" lift on my 98 XJ. After I did the t-case drop and took it for a test drive the damn things vibrates while in gear and standing still. Not liking it at all. Tempted to remove the t-case drop kit. Anyone have any thoughts or advise?
