X2; I used a 3" lift for a wile on my stock rims and tire size.you will be fine with a 3" lift kit because once you do the 2" you wont realy notice a diff form a new stock susp.and i found that i out flex xj's with 31's on a 3" lift with my 3" lift and stock size the only advantage they had on me was in the rut's

Ok so 3" lift on 235/75 looks pretty good. I'm sure a little funny until the springs settle. What about brake lines and drive shaft? Any changes there??

BEWARE, these are a substandard spring and bushing in my own opinion, and it seems after I did a few searches we are all suffering from premature bushings wear. Like you will have no bushings in a year or two. I have heard very good things about BDS, and they do use factory size spring eyes and poly bushings. I also beleive Currie uses the same set up as factory. I don't have any input into the other springs, LOL, but I wanted to make you fully aware of a seriously bad design issue that seems to be flooding the XJ aftermarket spring market.

I have heard about Rusty's eyes being a little smaller than stock, but it's not that much of an issue - they have more than enough cushion and flex for the typical wheeler.
And trust me, you do not want poly bushings for leaf springs - they'll squeak terribly and will flex terribly.

I'm just curious, what is the ride height difference in the 3" lift the day it was installed and after the springs settled??

Mine was a RC series II with full leafs if it makes a difference.

Too bad I have crappy RC shocks and it rides like garbage.
12" and 14" travel Bilstein 5125s are in the works, getting them as a trade too
However if you want some longer brake lines for cheap, get GMC 1/2 front brake lines and a 96 Dakota 4x4 rear line. Both are bolt in and a ton longer than stock.

Rubber/Rubber or Poly/Poly ride much better than Heims or Jonny Joints but they don't flex worth a crap.

Well this xj isn't going to see any aggressive trails or anything. I'm not after max travel just something to make it easier on the trails for camping trips or the roads where we go shooting in the desert.

Go with rubber bushings and find a way to cough up the coin for nice shocks, it literally makes a world of difference.

If you don't feel like coughing up a few hundred extra right now, stick with what they give you normally, save up and get some Rubicon Express Monotubes or Bilstein 5100 series shocks.
