well i just looked at rough country site and their 1.5 in lift is 249 while the 3in is 255 lol guess ima go with a 3in lift. My question, do i need longer control arms if i go for a 3in lift ? Theres one without them for 255 and one with them for 345. Im not sure which one to get.
Im also assuming rough country are entry level lifts, im sure its not the best brand but its more of a budget brand is that right ?

Hey guys, looks like all the lift questions go in here. Looking to order my lift next week and I narrowed it down to either the Rough Country 6.5LA or the iron Rock offroad 6.5LA. They are the same price and I know a lot of guys run RC but I've heard bushings wear fast. Which do you guys think is the better lift? I like how the RC lift has the integrated transfer skid that looks a lot more like a skid than my stock one.
I'm also planing on getting the IRO hack & tap with a refurbished front drive shaft, anyone have experience with this? Anything else I need?

I picked up a new, never used stock leaf pack off of craigslist list last night. At some point I want to add a couple of inches of lift. I'm planning on doing a little wheeling in the summer, plus I think that Jeeps look good lifted a little. I currently have good 235/75R15's, almost new shocks and it's a daily driver. The leaf packs in the 2001 Cherokee are OK now (no noticeable sag).
Should I do this: http://www.rocklizardfabrications.co...dget_boost.htm
Or just pick up a short or long arm add a leaf and spacers?
I think I could add bar-pin eliminators in the front and rear to give the current shocks a little more room.
I'm guessing homebrew...

I Am trying to decied between 3 and 4.5 in of lift. If i buy a 3in lift kit and then want to step up to 4.5 would i be sacerficing flex or ride qualty buy just adding spacers up front. and a shackel remouting bracket and longer shackel in the rear? vs Starting with a 4.5 in lift kit
I have chosen to go the 3" lift then add the relocation bracket (H. D. Offroad) and coil spacers this spring.
My thinking is I just want a total of 4-4.5" of lift and the relocation bracket do more for the flex and ride than just longer rear springs. The front will never fully compress because I will re-bump stop for 32" tires.
The addition of shock spacers (Detours) front and rear will save money on new shocks and reinforce their attachment points.

If I do a 3" lift an my '01 cherokee, what are ALL the angles I should try to get back to the factory settings? My dad will only let me put a lift on if i am able to get those angles back to where they should be but i don't know all of the angles that will change. My dad just doesn't want stuff to wear out quicker due to the angle changes.. Please provide as much info you can! thanks!

I've got a loud thud coming from front end when I hit a bump, think I found the problem on driver's side, I installed 3 inch sway bar links and the nut is rubbing up against what looks to be bump stop metal bracket. What have people done to help correct the problem, I guess I could switch to smaller nut/bolt no help, any other solutions ? heat it an push it in some..

I installed a rc 3" lift build thread here I have driveline vibs from 25-35 mph, after that it smooths out. Some binding noise when decelerating (what it feels like, sounds like)
I replaced the u joints in the rear shaft. I know i have the options of tc drop, also the sye kit. I am willing to spend the money on the sye kit, but I also dont want to just throw money at it and be unsure.
Is it worth replacing the u joints on the front shaft, could that be causing vibes? Can I remove the front shaft and try driving then?
Is there anything else you would try before going to a sye. I already know the pros and cons of a tc drop. I dont like the idea but am not opposed to it. Just seeing if i am missing something.
If i go sye, I am looking at around $1000. $370 for tom woods and then install labor. I am not qualified for the sye install (as far as I know)

I'm guessing homebrew...

Or just go with spacer and shackles on the new rear leaf? This might be the easiest and ride the best...
Order this shackle kit $31 and a 2 " spacer for the front. The shackle is adjustable. done.
