You can run a 33x12.50 on a 15x7 lol trust me I've done it and that has been covered many times on this forum. With a stock 15x7 the backspacing won't be enough and it will rub the lower control arm at full lock. A 31x10.50 Will fit perfect on a 15x7 with a 3.75 or 4" backspacing.

He's right on this one, Gone. I've never seen anyone *recommend* a 12.5 tire on a 7" wheel, but it can and has been done. 10.5 tires will fit fine on a 7 or 8 inch wheel.

Thanks man! That tire carrier is actually a stock carrier lol. Jeep offered two different ones but they're pretty rare. Most people have never seen them. I just happened to be lucky enough to know someone who found one at the local junk yard and pulled it. The picture I posted is the day we installed it on my rig. Thanks again for the compliment!

I should have specified, I don't recommend a 12.50 on a 7" rim but it will work lol sorry bout that. Thanks for the back up

So I am also hoping to run 31x10.5's on my stock rims but I'm not sure if it will work. Will the tires rub anything? If they do rub what could i do about it? I dont know much about backspacing and all that...

31's on stock rims will rub the lower control arms at full lock. You can adjust your steering stops to correct this but you will lose some of your turning radius. Backspacing is the distance from where the rim bolts to the back of the rim. The smaller the number the more the rims stick out.

well you need lift, and smaller backspacing on the wheels (4.75" should do)

Ok thanks! What about wheel spacers? What exactly do they do and will they help stop the rubbing? Would you recommend them?

they...space the wheel out further

I run them - you need to make sure to get hubcentric spacers (have a lip to support the hub, rather than relying on the studs). Biggest thing you have to keep in mind with spacers is that you need to re-check the torque on the internal lug nuts every couple months to make sure they're not loosening up. That would be very bad.

any aftermarket wheels will specify what the backspacing is

that combo is a good pick

that's fine, they'll just stick out further

This is mine with spaced out OEM wheels - 3.75" effective backspacing - still under the flares
