hey guys just got another cherokee and will be building it up bigger than the one i currently drive. i'll be getting a 5.5" RE long arm kit rolling on the 32's that i already have. i know i'll need an sye but my real questions is with the drive shafts. any suggestions or places to look? i've seen posts about measuring but i'm not really sure on what you'd be measuring. my first jeep has been my only vehicle and unfortunately has been the victim of some experimenting lol. this time i want to do it right the first time. i go off roading on a regular basis so it won't be a mall crawler, but i still want it to look great. any help would be greatly appreiciated!

the best way to do this is the measure the distance between the output flange and pinion flange during full droop and full bump and use that to order a shaft so you can make sure it wont bottom out or over extend.
Tom Woods is a great place to get some very well built shafts, and they have no problems answering any questions you may have about lengths.

Im going to be going from 3" of lift to 5". My question is about control arms. I am going to get a drop kit. But would it just be better to get some junkyard control arms that will be long enough? Or should i get adjustable ones? Or something else? Im piecing this lift together myself. But any opinions would be great.

my 89 was lifted 5.5 inches with no SYE and my current 5 speed is also 5.5 inches...no SYE and no vibrations... Not necessary every time. Lift it first and see

Yeah my 99 has a 4-5" lift and even after a 1" t case drop it has a hint of vibration. But the plan was to put the new one together and see. And as for the control arm question it would be easier to just buy the right size ones. Or find and similar lifted Cherokee and get those. I don't know much about the adjustable ones so I can't help you there.

if you relocated it, how has it shifted towards passenger? You mean away from? typically at 3" the necessary distance between the holes is too small to be safe, which is why it's only recommended at 4.5"+/-.

Try www.4wheelparts.com but if you're going for that big of a kit it won't be cheap. I know Rubicon Express has a 7.5" lift.
