has anyone in here gotten the RC 3" lift kit? did it sit at three inches? The reason I ask is because I want to get jks quick disconnects instead of quicker dissconnects. the price difference is 100 and the only snag is that the quals for the quicks are 3.5 inches of lift to 6. If i can run this it would be great because i plan on going higher over time and these seem to be better at that

What is largest wheel and tire combo that will fit a 3" lift with no fender trimming or other body work without scraping or rubbing at all?
Anyone have a setup which accomplishes this please post it.

To start I have a 1996 Cherokee 4x4 and im getting ready to add 31-10.5x15 mud terrain and a set of soft 8's and a 3" budget lift. The first question I have isthe Wheels Does anyone have any pictures of a cherokee with black 15" wheels that have 3.5" backspacing and any pictures with black 15" wheels that have 4" backspacing I can't decide which one that I want. I want them to stick past the stock fender flares but not a lot. The second question I have is the 3" budget lift comes with.....
2 - 3" Poly Spacers
Set of Pro Comp add-a-leaf w/ center bolts
4 - Shocks
Installation Instructions (FBGXJ3-8KS)
My question now is do I need anything else to go with this kit? The third question I have is how hard is it to upgrade to the 136 amp Alternator off of the 98 Grand Cherokee 5.2L? My Alternator has died after I went wheeling and I think it got wet. I also heard that It could be the Voltage Regulator where is this located at? The reason I want to up grade it is I want to run about 8 spot lights 2 on the bumper 4 on the top of my rack and 2 on the back of the rack, and a winch. So I dont know if the stock 90 amp Alternator will handle the load
Thanks for any help.

To be 100% sure you won't have any issues I'd run either 30x9.50s or 255/75/15s
I can't confirm or deny that getting backspaced wheels may cause its own issues with rubbing on fender flares the tire sized and whether they work are posted for stock wheels.

To upgrade to the 136amp off a ZJ as long as the bracket matches it will be a bolt-on swap and you won't have to change anything. Here's a write-up on it: http://www.bc4x4.com/tech/2004/jeepalt/
FWIW water won't kill an alternator, if anything it'll help keep one alive longer. However if you get any mud or other stuff in an alternator that can kill it quick.

Does anyone know the a 2.5" kit that comes with full leafs? Everyone here thinks AAL's sag so I don't want to deal with that but it's hard enough finding a 2.5 kit let alone one with full leafs.
If anyone has general recommendations for 2.5 kits please let me know. I don't mind paying extra for quality.

Ok, so does the fact that it's only a 2.5 inch lift make it ok to use AAL's or shackles versus full leafs? I don't want it to sag or have to upgrade later.

If you don't want to have to upgrade later I'd recommend full packs, thats the best way to assure that you won't have a sagging rear end in 6 months.

Not to contradict anyone on here but with a 3 inch lift your going to clear 31's easy maybe 32's i am bone stock and have 30x9.50s and have flexed her all the way out and no rub. I ask the question before would 32's fit with no cutting of fenders and everyone said not a chance. I seen a XJ today with a 3 inch RC AAL on 32's and he said it has never gave him a bit of trouble.

I highly doubt that the XJ you saw on 32s was on a RC 3" AAL kit, it just doesn't work. If anything he was on a 4.5" kit with 32s as those are the recommended tire size for a 4.5" lift.

Im putting a 3" lift on and adding 31's on 15x8's. do i need to worry about backspacing when I buy the rims? I posted this question earlier to no reply. I think that the tire store said something about .12 or -12 on the ones he ordered. I can still get out of it if I have to. The rims are black steelies from discount tire 15x8. Any thoughts? I know zacksxj has got something to say, right?
