lol... I was just going to suggest black rocks and then I scrolled down and you had posted this.... black rocks are awesome... they have a little more creativity to the design than the traditional black AR, Cragar, or ProComps... if I didn't already have good rims on my jeep, I would go with either black rocks or KMC XD series Hoss

Howzit fellas? I'm new here and I finally joined the ranks of Cherokee owners everywhere! I bought a 94 Cherokee sport with a tiny mild lift 1 3/4 to say the least lol! I ordered a 4.5" Rough Country lift kit and wonder if I can put this kit on top of the 1 3/4 lift I have now? its a coil spacer kit in front and stiffer springs in back from another vehicle that lifted the rear end. I am eager to see all of the pics of your Cherokees on this site! Happy Jeeping!

Is your 4.5" RC lift an add-a-leaf?

Alright finally decided to lift my Cherokee I am looking at rustys and RE I only want to go three inches, should I buy the rustys kit and some Lcas or should I spend the extra coin on the RE kit? The jeep is my dd so I want it to ride decent and I don't want to spend a ton of money on it of I don't have to.

I have the Rusty's 3" spring pack and their fixed LCAs. I'm satisfied with the results. The new leaf springs will give a lot more than 3" of lift at first, so you may want to remove a leaf and shim the rear axle a bit. I still haven't put back my leaf that I removed and it's been fine. Other than that, make sure to do your research about the trac-bar, brake lines and tire size.

Here's what it looks like:

Do I need to do anything with the track bar?
The kit comes with a rear brake line extension I probably won't wheel this jeep much cause it's my dd I'm going to buy another for a woods jerp

ok heres a question; bone stock 99 xj sport, wanting to do a 3.5" or 4.5" lift. if i buy a complete bolt on kit either size, which would be a better deal and what (beside whats included in kit) would i need? and also with a 3.5 is a tc drop and/or a brake line relocation needed?

Assuming the Rusty 3" kit hasn't changed in the 5 years since I bought mine, the "rear brake line extension" is not a new line, but merely a relocation bracket. It works fine and if you don't plan to wheel it very often, you'll be fine. The front brake lines are marginal. I ran mine for about 3.5 years with the stock lines up front, but then earlier last year, I went ahead and got extended stainless/braided lines because I flex my front end a good bit. I would recommend a new trac-bar, but it's not fully necessary. You can get by with redrilling the lower mount (google or CF search). You shouldn't need a SYE, especially if you shim the rear axle and you can put a small crossmember drop on it using stacked washers. I dropped my t-case crossmember by a quarter inch plus 6 degree shims on the rear, and I have no vibes whatsoever.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with a 4.5" lift. Rusty's 4.5" full spring pack lift or Zone Offroad 4.5" complete kit makes for good lift kits. You'll need to relocate your rear brake line for sure, and I'd suggest need front lines altogether. Also, at 4.5", I'd recommend a SYE to prevent vibes and transmission/t-case damage. Rusty's 4.5" kit comes with an adj. trac-bar and LCAs.

Rusty's 4.5" kit.

Zone Offroad 4.5" kit.
(Make sure to get full leaf packs and not the default AALs)

I'm running the rustys 4.5 inch kit with their adjustable trac bar, upgraded tie rod and forged flex uca and lca's. haven't gotten to really test out the flex or anything but it drives great offroad, takes the bumps that use to rattle the whole jeep like they're nothing. It all depends on what you want in the end. At 4.5 I feel like I can still dd the jeep as well as have fun offroad and keep up with the big boys. Really its all personal preference, I will say the higher you go the more money you'll need to put out down the road. as far as bang for your buck goes I'd go back and prolly get a lift plus wheel and tire combo from rustys, this is their 4.5 inch one.

and this is their 3 inch one

This is only my personal opinion though. Best thing to do is to price everything out and decide what you really want your jeep to be. I chose the most expensive option I could and saved the final cost, then picked the cheapest option and saved the cost, then tried to find something in the middle.

For the price and what I plan on doing, the 3" rusty's lift would be awesome. are the stabilizers and lower axle mounts recomended? if so should I go ahead and order them with the lift or can I get them cheaper somewhere else? I dont plan on real extreme offroading right now, but you never know! haha
