I'd think so but Idk. If you're going bigger later get the better axle now while you can and run the 31's on the stock axle and swap tires and axle out at the same time.

I dont have to much knowledge on axles, but I have axles I can use out of a 97 chevy suburban, and I wamt to run 35s, so I know the thicker bigger axle is needed since im still running the stock dana 30s. So my question is are the axles out of the chevy suburban the right ones to put under my jeep?

May work with modification, but generally people stick to the Dana series (D44, D60), or the Ford 8.8.
For 35s, I think a D44 rear and the stock D30 front can handle the stress. I don't have experience with axles, though, so I'm just reciting what I've heard. Somebody should be able to help more soon.

Ah, you may be right. I haven't heard about that, but I'm no expert. I mentioned the D44 cause you can find them on XJs from factory (if you're patient/lucky). If you get one of those, it's a direct bolt-on and you don't have to fab. I'm gonna let one of the more experienced guys take over from here, though, cause I don't wanna steer you wrong on details.

Lol ya I wish mine was a d44 but its not unfortuntly. But I think the chevy suburban will work. I don't mine fabbing. Got a welder I can use and everything else I maybe need.

You will only be able to use the rear axle as the front is IFS (not a straight axle). The rear will either be a 10,12, or 14 bolt axle...depending on if it's a 1/2, 3/4, or HD 3/4 ton.
