Thanks for correcting me.

ok so i was at a local tire shop, and the guy there told me that 30/9.50R15's will fit on my jeep without rubbing with the stock suspension, no lift. is this true or will it rub? and if so, will it rub enough that i will need to modify? thanks

you can run 30s stock without any issues.

if they're both said to be the same lift height it won't matter until you get a winch and winch bumper, then the 150lb springs will sag more. I'd personally get 180lb springs

Would i really need a lift to run a set of 15x8 AR-767 series rims and a 265/75/15 tire??

Or what is the max tire size i can run on a 1995 Grand Cherokee WITHOUT a lift??

Default Tire Preference

Okay guys, need some opinions here. I have narrowed my tire search down to two tires and would like some feedback. I am looking at 35 12.50 15 tires. I have narrowed it down to the Kumho Road Venture MT KL71 and BFG MT K/M 2. Which do you all think are the better tires? I found them for roughly the same price, just over $800 including shipping. Price was the major priority in my choice, so it is down to these two. Tell me what you think!

Yes, 180lb springs will be stiffer than 150lb springs.

Default Crazy Quotes

Gettin some high dollar quotes(in my opinion, 4,400 BDS 8" LA, 3,000 RC 6.5" LA) and was considering doing my own install. Are the instructions on most kits like RC simple with pics? Any welding? This is for a 99xj with a 231j TC and Chrysler 8.25" Thanks in advance.

Holy crap thats alot of money. For 4400 u can buy a really nice rig already lifted locked and with all the trimmings.

Most if not all lift kits are bolt on, instructions i'm not really sure about cause I never actually bought a kit. All depends on your mechanical ability. Your gonna need a few days to work on it, a nice garage or flat surface, lots of pb blaster and a torch, grinder with cut off wheel, maybe a sawzall, basic mechanics tools, breaker bar with cheaper pipe, and some other stuff im sure. Having a buddy to help with make things go smoother also. If you run into a problem you can always search for it on here, or just post a new thread. What I always say is give your self plenty of time, like if you start on Sunday and you have to get to work on Monday morning thats just gonna cause you to worry and screw up things. You can do it your self and save a couple of grand, not to mention you can find some really nice used stuff on the net for half the price sometimes.

Those quotes seem a little high to me, especially the BDS considering it's a completely bolt-on kit with no welding. The BDS kit retails for $2800 on their site so they're quoting you $1600 for installation labor. For that money you could buy an XJ in great condition. It's all about perceived value I guess. Btw, why the hell do you need 8" of lift? You running 40" tires? And don't forget the added cost of SYE, longer drivelines, axle upgrades, etc as the domino affect of 8" sets in.
