Does anyone run 16" rims? I want to run 33's but dont want to go out to 12.5 wide on the tires, found a set of 33/10.5/16 Just curious of anyone's opinion...

Been doing a little research and I am getting mixed reviews. Can I run 235/85r16 on an 8" rim?

I picked up some 16x8 moabs thinking of running 245/75 but if I switch to the 235/85 I will have 32" and no rubbing as I am already at 235/75s. So no added width but almost 2" gain in tire height.

Currently have a 2" lift with 1.5" wheel spacers. Moabs have 5" of backspacing.

Thoughts?

Never heard of 33/10.5/16. I used to run 285/75/16's and i love the look of a 16" rim. Had a friend that ran 35/10.5 on 15's and i liked the skinny tire look but the COG was terrible!

I looked and it looks like those particular wheels have a 5" back spacing. Will this be too much? Will it look dumb? Will it rub? According to RC they say that 3.75" is ideal for backspacing. I don't know enough about this to know if 5" is going to cause any problems.
I have the same kit with 15x8, 3.75" bs and 32x11.50 KM2.....just to give you an idea.

Was looking to run 15" rims, just didn't know if there was a 33 1050 or 11 out there for 15".

Unless someone can convince me that 12.5 really isn't poking out to far. pics please..

[QUOTE=jajao555;1735301]I'm thinking about getting these Cragar 397 Soft 8 Black rims 15x7 and 5x4.5 bolt pattern. These would be good for stock 235/75/15 tires right? How big of a tire could I put on them. I'd probably be getting new tires in a year or 2.

I recently put these wheels on my XJ and have 235/75/15 now. I wanted to suggest to you to get on America's Tire e-mail list if there is one near you. Every couple of months they have a rebate program on wheels and/or tires.

I bought mine for $72 each for chrome and got a $100 rebate within 3 weeks.

Next time I get tires, I will go larger too and sorry that I couldn't answer that one. - john

Ok, so I just bought a Rusty's Off Road 8.5" long arm lift kit with quick disconects and everything. I know I'm going to need a SYE or something along those lines. Any advise on the best or cheapest way to do this? THANKS!!!!!,

Thanks I signed up I'll keep an eye out.

I have another question. I have the NP242 transfer case I also have a spare NP231 but I'd like to keep the 242. I hear there are only hack an tap kits for the 242. Whats the best one? Are there any positives swapping to the 231?

Default New leafs

I am ordering my 2" lift (yes only 2") and am ordering new leaf packs. My Xj's current leafs are more than likely rusted beyond belief, so I plan on oredering new EVERYTHING, from bushings to bolts. I really just wanted to see if anyone could give me a set list of everything I'd need. I plan on ordering these leafs if that matters http://www.quadratec.com/products/16...googlemerchant

A list of what I think I need-
*Main eye bushing X2
*Shackle end Bushing X2
*Shackles X2
*Shocks X4
*Coil spacers (2") X2
* U bolts X4

Anything else? Any bolts that I'm forgetting?
