Because of this, they tend to give a harsh ride and wear out quickly. Some people have better luck with them than others. as a budget boost, I'd suggest coil spacers up front and shackles (maybe a shackle relocation bracket...input from dukie?) in the rear until you get a 'real' lift.

My XJ was bastardized with lift parts I gathered over 6 months of searching Craigslist. I had 3" Skyjacker coils, 3.5" Rubicon express leaf springs, and stock JK Wrangler shocks. The shocks were from a 4dr Rubicon, so my ride was incredibly stiff, but I loved the RE leafs. Due to the stiff shocks and never getting a chance to disconnect my sway bar and do real wheeling, I can't comment on the Skyjacker coils. People say to stay away from SJ parts for Jeeps, but I got them cheap. Overall, I loved it while I had it, but it rolled twice before the novelty of having a lifted Jeep wore off.

I wheel the dogsnot out my rig and the rc lift handles every bit of it.

See answers above. I'd like to point out though that with the SYE and the seal kit, the cost is almost as much as the HD SYE kit (which replaces the whole output shaft with a bigger, stronger one, and doesn't require you to drill/tap any holes). I'd go that route if I were you.

Leaf Bushings
This is my first time buying any kind of bushings, it will be for a 2" lift. How do you guys feel about these ones? Looks like the best deal I could find. I'm just not sure if there is a difference between buying them in halves or in one already.

Can I fit these wheels and tires?
Hi guys,
I'm new to cherokeeforum. I just got a 1995 cherokee XJ. Completely stock and wanted to start by adding some wheels and tires. I want to get the Mamba MR1 17" wheels with LT255/75R-17 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM. Can I fit those on with a stock suspension or do I have to get a lift kit first? I will eventually get a lift kit but wanted to know if I can get and install the tires and wheels first.
Thanks.
