yeah i like the shackle lift idea better than the rear leafs but my leafs are sagging but i was wondering if a new set of shocks would do the job along with the shackles and lift blocks? i appreciate the links and help!

Do not use lift blocks in the rear, and no shocks will not fix sagging leaf packs. Only way to fix sagging leaf packs are new ones. Shackle will flatten sagging leaf packs and blocks will cause axle wrap which is a very bad thing. IMHO if you have sagging leaf packs you either buy new oem replacements or move up to a 3" lift with new leaf packs. What size tires did you buy?

k so i've found a lift i'm interested in puttin on my '00 XJ.. a 3" Rough Country. Would i need to make any mechanical mods and if so how complicated would it be to do?
I should add that i dont do too much wheelin.. just goofin around in feilds with some of my buddys so there wont be too much flexing goin on (if that even in any way impacts my question)

its from 4wd hardware the 2" lift, how hard should a lift like that be? i know i can expect broken bolts and such but a couple of guys with pretty good knowledge of trucks should be fine right? is an impact wrench necessary?

Get some PB Blaster and start soaking all the bolts. Yeah you should be all good to go. Air tools makes it easier but not needed to do the job. Also make sure you have a stout breaker bar for those rear shack/eaf spring bolts..
