I just got a set of 4.5 rustys springs and have a 2 in spacer so id like to get the leaf pack at 6/6.5 (1 in shackle included) want to piece a bastard pack together out of my current leaf pack, ive read guys use S-10 and durango main leafs. What exactly do i need to get to take me up to the 6 in mark??? Thanks!

If you want 6.5 inches then get some 3 inch shackles.

A horror story
Ok, I thought I would share my experiences with you guys.
It all started yesterday....
I got two leaf packs from a 94 dodge dakota and 2 main leafs from an 89 xj at the junk yard. Then, I pieced a bastard pack together by placing all of the dakota leafs underneath the xj main. I bolted the new packs together and was set to being lifting.... Next, I pulled the back wheels off, removed the u-bolts, dropped the axel, and started to remove the shock absorber. And guess what happened, both of the bolts holding the shock to the body broke. Setting that problem aside, I proceeded to remove the front leaf spring eye bolt. The bushing sleeve had seized. I hammered on it hundreds of times. Not a budge. So took a sawzall and cut the bolt as close to the mounting bracket as possible, but even after that, there was not enough clearance to slide the eye out. So I thought to try the rear instead so that I could get leverage on the front eye. The rear was seized as well. So I thought, maybe I could remove the shackle bolt and drop the spring that way... And I bet you can guess, that bolt was seized as well.
But I persisted
I kept turning the shackle bolt and my persistance forced the seized bolt and bushing sleeve through the shackle mounting bracket and out. I finally got it. But I still had to free the front of the spring... So I twisted and turned and treated the xj like none other should be treated. But eventually, it gave in and broke loose.
Yay! First victory!!
But wait.......
Remember how the shock bolts broke? I picked up a bolt extractor and decided to go that route first. After drilling my pilot I put the extractor in and began. The bit drove so hard into the bolt that the resulting amount of force that I exacted on it broke it clean in half. So if the prior wasn't bad enough, now I have two bolts that are broken, one of which has a bolt extractor snapped inside of it.
Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I had to remove my tow hitch/bumper in order to get at the rear eye bolts and every single bolt that mounted held it on, snapped.
So here I am, end of day two. Still at the same side I started on. Now I need new shackles.
Where should I get them? What is recommended?
Any tips for the other side?
Should I get new bushings for my bastard pack? If I ever have to experience something like this again, I'll shoot myself.
***EDIT***
Also, my bastard packs have enough arch so that from the floor to the overload leaf measures 9-1/2". Is this enough for a 3" lift?
Should I get longer shackles?
I hope you enjoyed the story....

New bushings are a good idea - but not absolutely necessary since you're using the XJ main eyes - you can get replacement shackles from quadratec for a mint -or- you can go to AutoZone, pay 25-30 dollars for the "drop/lowering" shackles and lift your jeep 1-2" more.

Wow and I thought my lift was a pain. I also broke nearly any bolt. Can you use a grinder/ Dremel to get that bolt cut to remove the spring, then you would have to deal with replacing the sping bolts.
