i have a 3" lift (full leaf pack) and 1.5 spacers up front and 2" shackle in the back with 31" tires and i want to go up to 33s. is it possible to do this and still keep my flares? if so what gear ratio should i go to?

Not unless you do some serious trimming and then you can relocate the flares or go with bushwacker flares. As far as gear ratio would depend on what your future plans are. You should be fine with 4.10's running 31's but if you plan on running 33's or more, I would go with 4.56's or 4.88

New guy here. I posted in other areas before but I'll just say it here too. I got a 03 Liberty with 4" lift (OME/Rancho) and I know the SFA world (owned a Range Rover)

But I am looking for a second vehicle (XJ) and want to atleast fit 33-35...what would the cheapest lift be for 33s or even 35s? I'm thinking the Rough Country 6.5 Long Arm kit?

geez guys i told myself i wouldnt do this and i really shouldnt but hey that is what your here for right? well at least this thread.

so i bought myself a 99 sport. then i went out and bought some 31x10.50 cooper discover sst's. not really wanting to go wild with this jeep as shes so nice. that and im going to afganistan this fall for a year so i wont be able to really enjoy it until after. so this build is a for the time being build.

so my plan is a simple cheap 3" lift to fit the 31s. the only reason i say cheap is becasue i want to use the rest of the money for bumpers and sliders as i learnt my leason with my old heep and wheeled with out protection and really destroyed it and i dont want a repeat of that.

so what would you suggest for a lift to clear 31s? im looking at rustys, rough country, rubicon express, BDS, or procomp. my criteria is that they must have full leaf packs, would like new LCAs(lower control arms for new guys). dont have to have the LCAs but would be nice i guess. oh and shocks too. trying to keep less than 1000$ really liked rustys as its cheap but no LCAs.

the main reason im posting is to have you all get me straight. because im all about long arms and going crazy i just need help to pull the trigger and keeping it simple, cheap, quick, and easy. wow this is long if you read it all props to ya and thanks for any help

i have a 3 in rc lift and what to add a long arm kit, in doing that i want to go 1.5 higher then my 3in, but im worried about pinion angle. i dont want to drop my tcase i want be able to clean as much as i can.

i just put my 3in on so i can see me dropping the money for a hole new set up. the shocks will hold up to a 5in lift before giving flex issues. i know what im going to do for the front just a 1.5 spacer but the back i have the ????? so i shackle it, block it, or do i respiring it. im trying to do this fray cheep. long arm is going to cost me about 675 then i haft to get a adj track bar are about 129 and a drop pitmen arm is about 45 as well that about 850 right there and i only got 1000 to work with

look into the RC 4.5 long arm kit trust me when i say this i went with a 3'' kit and now im wanting more. but if your fixed on a 3'' then i would say the 3 series 2 kit and opp for the full leaf well let you back 679.90 with shipping

i would all so say build your own bumbper and skids your saving about 100-175. all it needs to do it keep things off the body does not need to look nice well for me any way

Rustys looks good until you get to the shipping page. I did 3" on a 99 and fit my 31's and hated it so i gathered up some new spring for the front and went from there. I ordered a kit from RC and got full leaf packs and adjustable control arms. That way you can keep going up. The problem that I ran into with mine was the shocks and how tight the 31's were. But I love the control arms (adjustable and greasable) and the full leaf packs. I do wish that I would have gotten a new trac bar from the start though. If I were you (and I was less than two monthes ago) I would go with a 4" kit to fit those 31's. It looks and handles them much better. Get a new trac bar and some good shocks. I took my RC ones off in less than a month and got some bilsteins up front. The Rubicon kits cost a fortune compared to the others you listed but I havent heard any complaints about them either. If you do go with the RC call up there and try to talk them down. I saved more than 100 dollars by calling and talking to some guy (wish i could rember his name) But i got coils, adjustable arms, new leaf packs, discos and shocks for close to 600. The leaf packs came shimmed and it only took three days to get here. I think his name was jason.

Am curios about the 2.2 shocks on the RC 4.5 long arm kit how are they? How is that lift all together compared to RE? price vs quality and performanc? I wouldn't mind going long arms now as opposed to later depends how much the price difference is oin to be. It wouldn't look dumb on 31s though would it? Would. Be able to get away with a TC drop with this kit as I really don't want to get a SYE and driveshaft yet? that's the other reason why I was Ginger to go with jus a little 3 incher now.

I've heard nothing but good things about the RC Long Arm kit and their 2.2 shocks. That being said, TnT or BDS make much better and beefier long arm kits and Bilstein shocks put anything made by Rough Country to shame. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. TnT and BDS are more expensive than RC as are Bilstein shocks. if you get a 4.5" lift, getting an SYE and CV driveshaft would be a very smart idea.

well i went with that same saying you get what you pay for. so i sprang for the BDS 4.5 short arm kit. i mean RC qouted me at 1160 to the door for there 4.5 long arm and man i almost got it. but paying a little more for the BDS and having there 100% no questions asked lifetime warrenty for 1550 seemed smart to pay a little extra for warrenty. thats the way i looked at it. that and RC had a two week back order where as bds ill have mine friday. this weekend is going to be great

warrantys are awesome. Wish i had one. I can vouch for the bilstein shocks though. I love mine...world of difference for the front end, im still saving for the rear

I recently bought a 4.5" RC lift and will be using 32x11.5 maxxis bighorns and was curious to know what I will have to do with my track bar and pitman arm. I know an adj trackbar is probably recommended but what is recommended for the pitman arm?
