The IronRock style of upper mounting is referred to as double shear bracket because the bracket secures both sides of the pivot and the bolt only holds it in place. This style is better than a tie-rod end or Heim Joint style track bar where the mounting bolt pinches the pivoting joint to the stock track bar bracket (single shear mounting). Tie Rod ends are not designed for this type of use and flexing the suspension can exceed the range of travel and damage the Tie Rod end.

Basically, single shear is designed for driving, but double shear is designed for offroad use so your trackbar doesn't weaken a tie rod end over time, causing it to shear off while you're driving. That happened a lot with the old Rusty's track bars before they were redesigned.

Suspention
I have decided to go with a clayton 6.5inch long arm lift and was wondering if you guys thought it was worth the extra money to do the coil convertion in the rear this is a full time wheeling rig. Any info would be great.

Just wanted to throw this up here to get some opinions. Just recently threw on those 35's, but wanting to go bigger later on. I'll be boosting the XJ pretty soon here and want to know if the Ford Explorer rear diff will hold up to that abuse. It'll probably be running about 8lbs. of boost and it has 4.56 gears, now. Also thinking of an ARB air locker. Should I keep the 35" Boggers, or can I go bigger?
