I'm fairly new to off-roading, I've had my 99' XJ 4x4 for about 6 months now. Last week I had a RE 3.5" lift installed. I noticed that the driver side front sway bar link was rubbing pretty hard against the inside of the wheel well, and it seemed that if the sway bar was 1" longer it would have been a non-issue. The gouging it was causing bothered me, so I removed the front sway bar. I drove it around and it felt fine.
off-roading for me is taking my jeep out to the dunes in Pismo beach.
I'm wondering if not having a front sway bar is going to be ok in the sand?
I've read alot of discussions about on rocky terrain and on the road, but nothing about sand.
Any thoughts, opinions, or suggestions will be appreciated.

Minimal lift, no cutting advice
What I got:
2001 XJ 2wd almost bone stock. 4.0, AW4, 8.25 rear. no lift and bad rear springs. Probably bad shocks all around too.
What I found and need to make fit:
A friend was holding out on me and finally offered me a screaming deal on some tires. I know this is a little cart before the horse but I got to start somewhere and the deal is to good to pass on.. The tires are almost new BFG 33x9.50x15 ATs on factory aluminum daisy wheels.
My question is what is the smallest amount of lift I can get away with to get the tall n skinnies to work for now. Since I'm headed back to the states with the jeep in about 6 months I only need to get it to fit the tires and drive down the road. The 4x4 conversion won't happen until I'm on good 'ol US soil.
The only other drive train related thing is a ford 8.8 I'm working on getting under the back since it is also a scramin' deal to good to pass on. At least the bump from 3.55s to 4.10s should be a help.
So how much lift would be needed to get these under the jeep? Could I get away with some shackle relocation brackets and some ACOS? I plan on doing a full tilt suspension lift when I can so this is sort of a temp fix...if you know what I mean? Any ideas, thoughts, or advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks parsnip...but I kinda have to make them go on since I'm already close to over on the amount of stuff I'm allowed to ship home. No room to ship them and to expensive to pay for it. Plus I have a second jeep I'm working on to bring home as well so time and funds are thin... Just need to know if I can get away with less lift since these are very narrow 33s and its not going off road.

I would like to run 33x12.50x15 on my stock 15x7 wheels. I've heard the WJ lower control arms may give me more clearance for tires but will that be enough? What else should I look at? Not really wanting to buy new wheels.

And running a 12.5 on a 7" wheel shouldn't be a problem, but it isn't ideal.

I'm sure this has been asked before on one of the previous 600+ pages, but I'm looking for a mild lift for a daily driver and want to wheel occasionally. I'm thinking OME 2.5". Any input or suggestions would be appreciated. If you have OME and love or hate please let me know. Thanks.
