When you put the Jeep in drive, it'll go backwards.

It shouldn't effect you that much. Plus, it should get you closer to the stock specs anyways.

Swap them in and see how it turns out. Worst case scenario you need an alignment. Like you said.

I literally just bought a 89 xj today for $600. It needs minor work, but while its getting worked on, im trying to decide what I want to do with it. Its gonna be a weekend warrior and I know i want 33s with a RC 4.5" lift. However, because i drive it often, what would I need to make the lift more comfortable? Shocks? sway bar? Control arms? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Default 96 2wd xj

ok so now i believe i have everything. My jeep has 3 inch spring lift in front and 2 inch addaleaf in the rear and 31x10.5x15

so i posted a while ago that i was going 33's because i have them so..

front 3 inch springs and 3 inch poly boosters
rear 2 inch add a leaF, 2 inch shackles 1.5 blocks

total 6inch in front, 5.5 in the rear with new shocks nitro 9000's
I also bought a set of trailmaster control arm brackets, sway bar drop brackets, drop pitman arm, (already had adjustable track bar), and new steering stabilizer.
also bought gmc front brake lines and dakota rear believe all of them to be about 6 inches loner than stock!

so anything else anyone can think i might need?

btw does anyone know what degree shims i will need in the rear for a good pinion angle? i have a set of 2 degree ones. will those work??

thnx in advance for all the help so far!!!!!

The RC lifts are pretty complete. The 4.5" one should include everything you need. Which one are you looking at (they have several variations)?

I'm looking at the standard 4.5" lift for like $460. I know it has everything, but from what I hear, it's stiff

You'll have to measure the angle once everything settles better... Your adjustable track bar might only be good from 4.5 inches down so you might need a new one. Leaf packs would be better than that hodgepodge stuff your putting together too but it'll work for a while
