You should be able to use shims too. You should measure the transfer case angle and then measure the pinion angle and then shim the pinion angle to match transfer case angle

Edit: but idk if I'd do that at 5.5"

Ok guys. Probably a dumb question but is there a difference between offset n backspace? And the smaller the number the farther from the center they stick out correct? Is the 4.5in bsndif then a 223mm offset? I'm all confuzzled lol. Thnx for any answers

Backspacing is measured from the back lip of the wheel to the wheel mounting surface. The lower the numbers the more the wheels will stick out.

Offset is measures from the center line of the rim to the wheel mounting surface.

99% of the time 4wd wheels are measured in backspacing...

ok ive been coming back with stupid questions every day, looking for a cheap way to lift my stock xj, not looking for a whole lot of lift so I was wondering if budget boosters is an option and can you even put them on stock or do you need an initial lift to put them in, thanks

Suspension lifts aren't much different, still unbolting / bolting back up, and pb soaking them prior to installation is a must. A lot of people will tell you to save until you can afford a decent lift all around I.e new coils shocks and full leaf packs to name a few. Stockers are still quite capable machines, try playing around a bunch and see if you'll want a bigger lift, which you will

If you're just looking for about 2" the budget boost will be just fine.

Spacers and Shackles. Stay away from the add-a-leafs if you can.
