Oh wow. That's messed up. Sorry you're going though this trouble. Just for reference, my new RE shackles are almost perfectly vertical.

Although it seems my upper mount point is way up inside where yours are below the bottom of the bumper. Is that a difference between years? It almost looks like you added a 2nd shackle without removing the stock one?

Ok so i am going to be building my XJ up a bit. So i am going to redo the bastard pack and go from 3 to 5" of lift. I have a XJ on XJ leaf pack. I am going to get some S10 (or something of that nature) leaf packs to add to mine. In theory. What all do i need to make this a working bastard pack? I would assume

Shims? What degree?
A center pin for the s10 instead of the xj leafs.
A drill.
Drill bit.
and the leaf spring clamps (already have material to make them)

Does my lift of things i need sound about right?

I advise you drill out the center pin to 3/8" or larger. You'll need a carbide bit (or a masonry bit) for this. It'll be a stretch to get 5" out of a bastard pack though...

Could you take a closer picture of your shackles?

I hear DPG off road is a good place to buy OME. Anyone have experience with them? Can I ask that here? I'd love feedback from people who have Old Man Emu. Is the ride worth the extra $$? I'm looking at the 2.5" ultimate system they sell. I'm building a DD that will see little off road for my daughter. 2001 XJ 2dr 4X4 auto stock on 31x10.5s so far. I started a build page but progress will be slow. Thanks in advance. Newbie Mike from Ohio.

Is this a 3 in lift? I just got it the jeep and want the same lift and the shocks and stuff is rusted more than I'd like. It's got skyjacker hydro 7000 all around. Here's some pictures. Measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender flare, stock is 17.5 inches front, 17 inches rear. Subtract that from the measurement you get now and that's how much lift you have.

That looks like about 3 inches of lift.
