We're both cheap ***** and had the same Skyjacker Hydro shocks just by chance.
One visual difference. Both packs being 6 leafs but his smallest leaf was straight and mine was curved to match the rest.
I kind of like mine rough. Was just pointing out the difference in case anybody cared.

I believe the straight one is called an overload leaf, it retains it spring throughout the life of the pack because there isnt any load on it. But when you fully compress the spring (unlikely) or they start to sag that leaf will keep them from deteriorating quicker or from bottoming out completely. I too have terrible shocks and a stiff ride, so I'm in the market for some softer ones...

Get out there, flex the Jeep until it get's where you want it then measure.

For example, I run a 5" lift, 35s and chopped fenders. I have a 4" stop up top and 2" thick sstop on top of the spring plate. The original stop hit the axle tube so that's another 2"s. Id say I have about 8"s of bumpstop in the back.
Flex the Jeep until its about to rub then measure how much bumpstop you need.

I feel like this is dumb question but oh well lol. So I got used re leafpacks with 1.5-2.0 shackles on em. Should I replace my semi new rc leafs with the re ones or just but the bigger shackles on my exsisting leaf.

Leafs are leafs. RE is better quality, but I'd say don't bother with the extra work if the springs you have don't bother you. As long as they aren't worn out, it won't really make a difference.

3 inch lift in rear...'00 xj 4 door
hey i was going to buy new leaf springs for the rear of my xj...i was wondering if i need to get a longer drive shaft, extend brake lines etc...looking to order it soon
