I have the 4.5 with adjustable uppers. I just set the length to what the instructions said to start with and left them.

30x9.5s a good size to put on the stock 15s on a 2000 Sport? 2.5-3" lift installed at the same time.

Any other recommendations?

Would you suggest that over the 30s? Trying to avoid trimming of any kind, and a minimum of speedo inaccuracy, but i suppose if push comes to shove, i can re-calibrate.

What would i need in 31s? 31x9.5?

31x10.50

But those will probably rub a few things on stock wheels, LCAs. Could always get steelies.
But that's more $

The XJ cherokee is a unibody meabing the frame and body are all one inseparable piece. This means a body lift impossible on an xj

Not to be a jerk but it is sort of a faux pas to mention it around here, best of luck to you

Default axle shake/vibration

Hi, kinda new here and couldn't find this on the thread.
I put a 4.5" RC lift on my 97 xj. I put 6 degree shims on the rear axle to improve the differential U-joint angle, but I still have a slight vibration above 40mph or so. My buddie has a very similar lift, and has never had any vibration problem... Doesn't seem like a steep enough angle to need a SYE. Am I missing something else in the drive train?

Swap drive shafts with your buddy to see if that fixes the issue. If not, you need an SYE.

Do you two have different axles? I'm guessing you have the 8.25 and he has a Dana 35?

And what year is his? I can't remember what year it was changed, but the older t cases had an extension on the rear bell housing whereas the newer ones don't. That's what makes it more susceptible to driveline vibes.

Default IM GONNA LIFT THE JEEP...Finally. Back space question

Morning Jeepers!
-2000 XJ.
-Going to install 4.5 rough country lift
-32 11.5 15 KM 2's

What backspace do I need on the wheels? I don't want them to stick out very much. I can handle the rubbing when turning.

Thanks all!

Between 4 and 5"

Stock wheels should do fine.
