Default XJ with lift...wanna make it right...help

Bought my XJ with a lift already installed..Previous owner claims its a 4.5 inch lift. There are Rustys components throughout. In the rear its got a longer than stock shackle and 2 inch lift blocks.

A few weeks ago i discovered had a broken main leaf on the passenger side. I have a set of stock XJ springs. Is there anyway of disassembling both of the Rustys leaf springs and piece them together with the stock springs to get the desired lift without the blocks.

With the blocks right now i have a pinion shim between the blocks and the bottom leaf.If putting the leafs together like i described above is actually doable...where does the pinion cc shim come in...or is that something not needed anymore.

I doubt that a stock cherokee leaf is going to give you any lift in a lifted Rusty's pack. You'll more than likely want to find a leaf pack from another vehicle. I'm not sure which since I've never built a bastard pack. It's doable with the correct leaves.

The shim will need to be between the spring and the perch after you rebuild your packs and measure for your angle. (If you still need them)

if there is blocks and a longer shackle, i doubt they are new packs - most likely still the stock packs.

Ditch the blocks and the stock leaf springs, and get new full packs to replace them. I'd get 3" ones to put you back to the correct height with the longer shackles.

Or..since you have stock packs, combine leaves from both packs to create a "bastard pack". Doa search - people have done ones using multiple sets of XJ packs before

Hmm, I haven't seen much lift gained from two stock packs. If you do get lift it's going to be STIFF!

Anyone think an XJ with a 2'' lift would look bad with 235/75-15s?

Awesome. Stupid question but I haven't done too much suspension stuff in a while, but will the 2'' Zone lift add any extra suspension travel?

Unless you remove your rear swaybar and disconnect your front swaybay you wont notice anything anyway. To answer your question though, minimal travel.

Are those safe to do? I am looking for a safe, reliable, budget oriented way to gain a little more travel.

As long as you don't drive like an *****, the rear swaybar is completely safe to remove.
The front however is not. You can buy an aftermarket part called swaybar disconnects. They allow you the option to disconnect the front swaybar for wheeling and reconnect to drive on roads. Win/win.

Awesome. Are there any other options or are we pretty limited?

Only as limited as the depth of your wallet.
