Would it be dumb to put the adj.controls and drop brackets on a 3.5" lift?

31s will fit without trimming, but you run into the issue of rubbing your tires on your lower control arms. If you get aftermarket wheels with less backspacing (3.75-4") and/or get aftermarket (tube) LCAs, that issue will be resolved. If you trim liberally (butcher), you can easily fit 33s if you don't care about flex.

Im thinking about getting a Zone lift kit but haven't decieded on it yet. http://zoneoffroad.com/product?ki=439&gr=-1 Thats the link to the one I'm looking at. If I do deciede to go with that will I need anything else, like and adjustable track bar?

Track bar for sure. I'm at 4.5" on short arms and the ride sucks. Get some drop brackets or go long arms. It's not necessary, but it makes a world of difference.

I've looked a little into the long arms but im on a budget If I do go with this kit I could always later upgrade to a long arm, right? Or would it be smarter to go to a 3" lift, if that will get me a better ride?

Go 4.5" and save for long arms. 4.5" is perfect imo
