Whats the reason beadlocks are illegal for street driving. Atleast herr in Az?

I always thought by the concept that theyd be safer? Just wondering.

Thanks to all for my many questions and discussions which helped me decide on my kit. Ran Slick Rock in Ca on Saturday and everything went very well. I'm pleased with my chosen setup. I've already started answering easy questions and hope to continue.

I'd guess that they believe there's a larger margin for error which make them unsafe.

Basically, because the majority of them aren't DOT approved. For whatever that's worth.

I was thinking maybe a vehicle is safer if the tire pops when going sideways instead of sticking and fliping?? Idk. Maybe someone knows more.

I'm not sure when beadlocks have to do with with sticking and flipping. Personally, I run beadlocks whether they like it or not. 90% of em don't know the difference between real beadlocks and fake beadlocks anyways.

Default 35" Tires

Ok, Im re-advising my plan I was going to put a 4.5" lift but the SYE,DS, and all the other fun stuff isnt really in the budget. So I was looking at doing a 3" instead. Whats the biggest size tire I could fit on it. It says 31's but I was looking to go with 32-35". Do yall think that I could fit 35s with some cutting?

What year is your xj? You need to put the lift on before you even know if your going to need a sye. And a front stock driveshaft works. So you dont even need to buy a new one of those.

You can fit 35's though. Just need bump stops, and to be one with the grinder. Or shears, or saw zall. Whatever

Default Some guidance needed

I have a 99 with a 2" ome lift leaf packs and pucks up front. I'm wanting to get some goodyear duratracs because I see snow for more than half the year. I can get either 235/75R15 or 245/75R16. Would the 245's on the 16" rim be too big if I don't trim fenders. And what backspacing will bring either of these tires on a 7" rim right to the edge of the flares without sticking out?

Thank you!

Default Noises from all sides

I installed a Pro Comp 3" left yesterday with E3000 shocks and add-a-leafs. I am hearing noises from all sides of my jeep when I'm on a rough road. Is this because the new coil springs and shocks need time to set in and wear in. I made sure that everything is tightened back up to spec. I am just weary about all pops and clicks Im getting after installing the new shocks and coil springs. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks
