oh and measure the spacin between the ends. u want it to be snug when wrapped around the axle. but not too tight where it bends the axle walls inwards. and not too loose or ur ride will be like ridin a hurricane in a kayak lol

So basically the width? and for clamps just measure the thickness of each and add the thickness of the new leaf?

lol meaurse the dotted line with your U bolt. that way u ensure that ur u Bolts will fit nice and snug around ur axle shaft. if its too loose that ur rear end will be bouncin around aaaaallllll tha way down the road and ur shocks will go out very quickly. i know. its confusin to me too. but i picked up some tips onm here about it.

Default adding to a 3 inch rough country lift

Hi everyone....I have been putting alot into my 2000 xj lately, including a rough country 3 inch lift, with full springs, after dropping the engine back in (completely re-built top and bottom and with with banks headers and a freshly ported the intake) and adding bumpers and such, i was thinking of adding these rear shackles i had lyiing around that are a " 1' lift" and getting a 1' spacer for the front, is that stupid? she's just a bit lower than i wanted her... thanks

Not stupid at all. Shackles and spacers are a good way to do a small boost. Avoid lift blocks for the leaf springs; those are the real problem.

Also look into shackle relocation brackets. Should add 5/8" lift and give you a better shackle angle (close to 45°) for a smoother ride and better offroad capability.
