Yes RE will be bigger and better overall. If your not going to wheel it hard, go zone. If you are going to wheel, RE. All the stuff that comes with the RE kit are the amenities of the 3 inch lift which is a nice kit but you will need shocks.

Your decision needs to be based off of how you're going to use the Jeep

Like everyone else, I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck. Sure, I could use my 15" stock alloy's, but then I'd still be stuck in the future buying 15" tires.

235x75x15 are 29's
245x75x16 are 31's
265x75x16 are 32s
285x75x16 are 33's
)
Any thoughts?

Well I'm not sure what "wheelin hard" really is. Watching Youtube video's of guys climbing over boulder fields.....yah I"m not gonna do that.

Taking my jeep on deactivated forest roads, mining trails, washouts, skidder trails.....YUP....2 feet of snow with chains on all 4 corners... YUP
Throwing a bunch of weight on it and driving out... YUP Elk and moose are heavy. I'm gonna build a quazi cage/roof rack that is gonna tie into my bumpers and rockersliders, winch so some added weight is gonna be there.

I really want a 4.5" lift but with a budget, SYE and new driveshafts are really an added expense. I'm thinking 3" now and put a spacer and shackles in later for a bit more if I want it and the budget allows the other accessories.

I'm thinking the RE is gonna probably be the better kit, hope the ride isn't gonna be too harsh, deactivated roads can get rather bumpy

I'm setting up an 8.8 for the rear, see they offer high clearance shock brackets. How does this affect my shock choices. I think it raises the lower shock mount up 3" so would I just order a stock XJ lengh shock?

I would wait and measure once I got everything set up... But by that math, yeah kinda depending on how you want to set your suspension up

Default unsure of whats needed...

so i have an 89 cherokee limited with a 3 inch rough country lift (add a leaf), im planning on buying 2 inch spacers and shackles...what do i have to buy to be successful with my 5 inch lift? shocks? brake lines? ( im planning on running 33x12.5s )

Shocks brake lines control arms track bar sye and drive shaft extended swaybar links

But you can run 33s on a 3 inch lift. Just trim and bump. This is mine with a tiny bit of trimming and 33s
