What are the nylock nuts in the RC shackle kit for for the bigger bolt? The nut is in the frame rail?
Like the smaller bolts are between the shackle and leaf but what do the bigger ones with the nylock nuts go to?

RC is that bad. I mean its $200 more and its 2" bigger and long arms. But ill take ur advice and lean towards the RE. Do they offer SYEs that arent hackntap? I dont have any grinder or anything to cut thru that hardened steel. Id take a full SYE though.

Yes, but you may rub the fenders when it flexes and you may rub the lower control arms at full lock. My buddy ran 255/70's on a 3" and it didn't rub even a little
I just bought two xj's one is a 92 and doesn't run but complete the other is an 88 limited and does run, both stock. I just happen to have 5 35x14.50 R 15 Swamper SSR's on a set of 5 on 4.5 wheels. Anyone tried to stuff that much rubber under a stock XJ before? These are my first XJ's and I'm not afraid to hack up sheet metal, but I don't think the control arms and the rear door frames will clear the 35's, but if they will I just might try it for the next crozet cheap truck challenge... pics would be appreciated, or if the idea of some XJ rookie hacking up a set of near perfect sheetmetal XJ's you can buy em from me cheap. I'll even sell the tires and wheels but it would be way more fun to toss the 35's on and wheel it till it dies while I finish my other rig.

Iro is good stuff, but I don't like the long arm design they have. Lots of people run it and love it, I just don't care for it. I have their track bar and its a beast!
