Im new to the whole off road thing but im going to put grand cherokee coils on the front with 2" poly spacers and either the dakota aal thing or blocks to get me 4" of lift all around. What shocks should i use? Will anything else need to be altered as far as steering goes?

If you are netting 4" lift than you should look into lift shocks for 4" of lift. Or you could measure the size you need. Not exactly sure the method but I know you have to flex it out and then measure something. As far as brand goes, most of the cheap white shocks are made by the same company. If you want to spend some money I highly recomend bilstein. I got a set and love them in the front end.

You will need an allignment and possibly a drop pitman arm and definetly an adjustable tracbar (or some other way of dealing with the tracbar issue)

you can, but you need wheel spacers in the back to prevent rubbing. the minimum recommended rim width for 12.5s are 8". 10" are a much better choice

yupp, they will. thats what I have on my XJ now. I do have to run about 26psi on the street to get what I consider an acceptable wear pattern.

yupp, 31s fit great under a 3" lift. if you cut fenders and properly bumpstop you can deff fit 33s under a 3". I have room for my 32s with room to spare...i just need bumpstops to keep from chewing my tires up.

I have a 94 XJ with a RE 3.5" super ride , full leaf kit. I got at least 4.5" to 5" out of this kit. I need to put a 1" spacer in the front to level it. I am using the stock wheels with 31x10.5x15 and they look lost on there. I got some info from XJ Mullens JX (Justin) and I'm going to try 33x12.50X15. I need something to take up some of that space.

that kit is notorious for "settling" down to its selling height. put some miles on it and it will come down to around 3.5

Thats just the opposite of what i've heard. I put this lift in 7 months (8600 miles) ago and the front has only dropped a 1/2 inch. Rear hasn't dropped at all. Going to put a 1" spacer in the front to level it out. I've heard this kit rarely drops at all. Doesn't look like its going anywhere any time soon. I will say the front was a 1/2" lower from the start.

Soo looking to lift the jeep, and get some tires.. i dont have the tools here to install.

doubting, but does a 3" lift with new leafs, installed for under 1k sound resonable?

and where would a good place to look for tires be?

All you need to do the lift are wrenches on blaster and a mallet (I could be forgetting a few but it's all hand tools). You would spend less buying the tools than you would for the install and you will need them. Please someone else agree with me on this

yeah definatly do it yourself. If you've got wrenches and blaster your 95% there. If you don't have a decent set of wrenches buy them now YOU WILL NEED THEM. Then go to autozone and get strut coil spring compressors they're $53 but its only a deposit. You can also do the lift without them and just use a jack and unbolt your control arms to get the axle low enough but i'd recomend using the free compressors. Also if you can borrow or buy an impact wrench that will save you a lot of time.

ok debating between a 4" and a 6" lift right now. im buying 4.5" coils and 2" spacers for the front with aftermarket uca's and lca's and the contol arm drop kit. i could just go all coil on the front or i could add the spacer and gain a few inch's to get it at around 6". I know im going to need a new track bar. Will i need a new pitman arm for sure? what about the drivelines? and could i get away without brakeline extentions for a week or two until the new ones get shipped to my house as long as i dont flex it out to much?
