Get some federal couragia mt's. Almost got 25k out of mine before they became drag slicks, and they've got a weak sidewall, but they dig in the mud yo.

The wrangler mt/r is a really good all around tire and has Kevlar sidewalls.

I've run both Mtr's and KM2's. my km2's perform better on rocks. The Mtr's were better in snow on the road. Either way they are both excellent tires

I have a 4.5" Skyjacker Lift on my jeep with short arms.... Can I order just a set of long arms to put on without buying a whole new lift? If so do you guys have any recomendations? Thanks for the help!!

Yes you can order a long arm upgrade. I would also recommend going to a double shear adjustable trackbar if you don't already have one and some long travel shocks and possibly longer bumpstops.

My 3.5 inch RE sits at about 4 inches, and I didn't have to do very much trimming to fit 33s, you should be fine with three inches and 33s.
Okay! That's what I was thinking. I've been doing so much research and have found so much good and bad that everything seems bad lol. But yeah, I like this setup.

I've heard they sit high also. I'm trying to not go too high seeing as I only want to run 33's at the largest. I can get the 5.5 short arm for ~1600. I'm sure the 3.5 would be a hundred or two less. I'm not going to wheel my rig like crazy so I'm contemplating the short arms. Thoughts?

How does your short arm ride and perform offroad? I'm thinking about running that to save some $$$!

so at the local jy there's an xj with a skyjacker lift on it still in tact.. looks a little rusty. I can tell it's been sitting there awhile. would it be worth to pull and touch up? could the springs and shocks be damaged?

Gotta think, what condition is the body in? If its super clean with no dents then it was probably a mechanical issue, if its all jacked up in one area then it'll probably have issues with suspension drivetrain steering and body parts (obviously). I see skyjacker on a lot more pickups than I do xjs, can't say how well they'll ride. Look em over, if they look good pull em and give em a once or twice over to look for cracks, leaks or otherwise. If you're satisfied with em then buy em, or leave em in the back seat.

Not all that great on XJs, but I wouldn't hesitate at junkyard prices.

x2. Just dont pay big $$$ for it if you get it, you should be able to see any damage if there is any to the lift components if you look them over. Make sure the leafs look good and unwarped and the control arms arent bent (by that i mean make sure each side looks the same). Coils should probably be fine if they look fine. Shocks... you'll just have to pull em and see. And remember to grab the front swaybar disconnects if it has them, and check to see if it has an adjustable track bar you can grab up (could probably tell them the track bar is stock and your getting it cause you broke yours and get away with it.. Especially if its not double shear).
