im confsed- no sarcasm, i just dont get it!
Most call it a budget lift. XJ's have a unibody. Body lifts go between the frame and body, no such place on your Jeep.

i ran a 31" tire on my 2 inch lift with slight triming of the front inner fender flare...and had a brand new BFG AT tire in the stock place, i used a tow strap though...didn't even bother with the stock piece, but it can be done. now mine is on the roof cause you cant fit a 35 back there...lol

Hey whats up guys, Im new to the site and looked at this thread and havent found the answer to my question yet I dont think. So here it is. I have a 95 xj, Im thinking about getting a 4.5" lift from rusty's and running 32x11.50's. My question is, if I have a transfer case drop kit, should I still get a slip yoke eliminator?? Would it be needed?? thanks for any help

Default lifting sagging rear.

Hi guys, new here just came over from owning a toyota tacoma. I want to lift my cherokee 3" in the front then in the rear get a 4.5" leaf pack. I searched and could'nt find anything on this please flame away. Will this work and how will it settle. I actually want the rear to sit an 1" or better higher then the front without using shackles, blocks or AAL.

Thanks Guys

I would suggest it. and just get rid of the TC drop and gain an extra inch of clerance. if your low on cash dont get the SYE where you tear apart the TC, just get the Hack and Tap SYE. stick with Tom woods.

Since this is my first build I have just been doing the easy stuff (roof rack, bumpers, winch, ect..) but I would like to build the jeep to 33s eventually (maybe soon). My question is what would be the best way to go about this? Im really in no hurry and I want it done right so i am willing to holdoff and do a longarm kit or whatnot. But is there any way to keep my short arms and lift it further? This is my DD and will continue to be.

Thanks, James
well you can do more of a lift and keep the short arms, but why would you. if your thinking about doing a long arm kit then save up for it and do it right. I made that mistake when I first did mine a few years back and Im kicking myself for it now. if you want 33s you can do a 4.5" LA kit and trim or you can do a 6.5"LA and fit 33s in there nicely without trimming (some have to trim) but definately go with the long arm kit. I have been in jeeps with and well mine without and there is so much of a difference in ride quality.

well some Jeeps can get away without a SYE or Hack and tap but its all up to you to see how bad the vibrations are going to be. not all jeeps are going to have the same vibrations. and with the college thing, im a college student also, so that really should be an excuse lol. do what I DIDNT and save up for everything you need then get everything at once and do it right the first time. just my .02

front driveshaft is fine. but you may have rear driveline vibrations due to the slip yolk design. get either a hack and tap SYE or the SYE where you disasemble the Transfer case. and for the new rear driveshaft just use a front DS from a JY cherokee( not sure if the year of the xj matters or not). OR if you are lucky enough you might be able to get away with just a TC drop kit...
