BB are fine and shouldnt break at all. Its just a 2 inch spacer that above the factory springs up front and larger shackles in the rear. The hardest part would be the front because you have to get the front springs to drop down enough to get the spacer in, which will take a little bit of work. Its not all that hard but will take some time. Read over this and if you dont think you can do it then go with a mechanic.

Oh and one more thing, as for brands, any brand I should definitely look out for? I found a nice BB on fat bobs, but no brand name. Is that sketchy? Its an $80 2 inch lift:

Hey guys, So Im goin with the 4.5" RE lift and a SYE. Im also going to be runnning 33x12.50's. I dont really know much about SYE's so my question is, what else should I buy? I mean I dont wanna spend anymore then I have to, but I want to do this right. So is the SYE all I need to run the lift? or do I need to do something else to my driveline? Thanks

They are all gonna be pretty much the same so brand doesnt really matter that much. Some guys in here have used that lift without problems.

I put this RE3.5" lift in almost 8 months ago (6500 miles) and the rear still hasn't dropped. Then I added the front 1" spacer to level it.

[QUOTE=Hyper;727089]Noo im putting in a 4.5 lift in my 90 xj and i was told i might need a longer front DS but then ive bin asking arround and people say the stock front ds will work just for the front end the rear i got a sye for it[/QUOT
your stock front DS is FINE even with a lift. no need to change it out. but just make sure the Ujoints are in good condition (no play) and you should be fine

A longer rear CV shaft & degree shims for the rear leafs to change the rear dif. angle.(pinion angle) I needed 6 degree shims with 4.5"s of lift.

is a stock rear driveline fine on a 4.5" lift? most of the time yes, however that is the upper limit to the amount of lift you can do without needing an SYE.

As far as an SYE goes if you already have one, install it, measure the length of the driveshaft needed and head to a junkyard. Find a stock front thats within 1-2" of the length you need thats in decently good condition and lowish miles, then re-build it.

a stock front DS has been used by many people successfully for a rear DS with an SYE, and rebuilding it with a new centering yoke and 3 new u-joints costs about $100. Its a good compromise if you can't afford a high-dollar CV shaft from Tom Woods or High-Angle Driveline. Then once you buy a custom CV shaft you have a spare incase you ever need it.

The SYE should really be it, that and a CV driveshaft for the rear. I'd also check your u-joints in the front driveshaft along with your unit bearings and any other parts while you're under there.

I'm looking to lift my xj bout 3.5" inches, and ive been looking at Rubicon Express SuperRide with full rear leaf packs. Anybody running these? Any suggestions or comments? I wont be doing much offroading, mostly will be my daily driver. Im also looking at RE's monotube, are they really worth the extra cash? Any suggestions on those?

has any one ever heard of tire shops not mounting tires because they're too old (1996 manufacture date) and where or how to you know how old tires are thanks... btw the tires look brand new and aren't weather checked at all.
