Getting ready to pull the trigger on an OME 2" lift install. Was originally going to buy 31x10.5 R15s for it. The guys at the shop said I might need to do a little fender trimming. Question: should I go with a slightly smaller tire if I want to avoid trimming anything? What's the smallest tire I could go with on 2" lift that wouldn't look like a roller skate? On an OME 2" lift with the 31x10.5 R15 will I have rubbing issues as long as I have wheels with proper backspacing?
Thanks in advance,

I'd go no bigger than 30's on a 2" lift. I had 3" of lift initially on my XJ with 31's and I ended up trimming a bit on the lower front fenders/flares to get it to stop rubbing, mainly on turns. Now I'm at 4" with the same 31's and trimmed flares and couldn't be happier. But yea, if you want to avoid trimming, 30's on a 2" lift is what I suggest.

To get more, the leaf spring perches can be made taller to act as a built-in block lift.

Thanks, That's what i was figuring. Now I'm questioning if I want to do the SOA or just do a lift pack and shackle. This is in early stages of planning, but my goal is 33" a/t with minimal lift using Napier flares. Mostly a street rig and dd, so would spring under be a better ride with less wrap, or use ruff stuffs anti wrap perches on top with stock leafs?

Hell Creek sells factory Metric Tonne leafs (no lift; 2205lb payload capacity), or 3" and 4.5" SUA packs.

Spring under would be better. You could put 33s on without lifting if you're willing to trim significantly. Our rear wheel wells are larger than XJs. The only companies I've seen who make Comanche springs are Rusty's (who I won't buy from cause he was a douche on the phone and I've heard bad things about their customer service), and Hell Creek Suspension (who have a lifetime No Breaking Or Sagging warranty, and I've read hundreds of reviews [none negative] from Comanche and FSJ guys).

Got a new to me 86 XJ it is lifted already. How do I go about finding out who made the kit and how high the lift is? The Jeep has 33" under it now with quite a bit of rubbing up front need to trim the fenders.
