How much up travel is decent? I like the flex I get now with 31" and was thinking I could just regain what I lose with bigger tires by trimming up.

Read this thread. The guy got 37"s on a 2.5" lift.

Anyone know of some decent 35/9.50-10.50/ 15 mud terrain tires?

that's all you gotta do, just trim up a little. I didn't take a huge amount off my fenders.

Could you post a few pictures? The cut stock flares I saw looked pretty bad.

Lift it, buy the 35s. Then eyeball it and figure out how much you have to cut to fit them in there nicely with a little bit of upward flex and cut. And bumpstop!! Very important to bumpstop correctly. Read a lot before doing any of it really. Are you just trying to go Low Cog or what?

Research. It's rare like you said, but it's been done. I'm giving you a vague answer because if you're still at the "I need to see it" stage of the project, you have more to learn that what I can consolidate into a post.

I say go for it if you want (I'm planning 35s with less than 3"), but read and understand what you're in for. Lift, wheels, tires, gears, maybe axles, plus steering and a Durango steering box to turn the new meats. Then comes the trimming and metal work.

I know its been discussed many times but the app search function finds nothing. I have what i would call bumpsteer and its annoying to say the least. Even straight roads its great i can let go of the wheel and it goes straight. Slightest bump and it darts one way or the other. 4" lift 33's have a drop pitman arm and have it alligned perfectly. No worn bushings or tie rods either. Only wild card is the trac bar. Its an oe one with a modified axle mount (not a drop bracket). Im not going to just throw a $150 trac bar on it to see no results so lets hear thoughts on my problem.

Could be the factory tie rod and 33's, but more than likely it's your "modified" axle bracket.

Post a picture of your steering from directly in front of the Jeep so we can see your mounts and the relative angles of your track bar and drag link.
