I got the passenger side shocks & springs off okay ...no complications, I'm just old and slow. And no, I did not mangle the upper shock absorber bolts, so right now I'm two-for-two lol .

And with that, I called it a good day.

I really need the correct size metric deep socket (21mm) to get the shackle off the old pack though. AND I should have picked up the 1/2" drive 25 inch breaker bar when I was at HF earlier, because it would have made getting the upper shackle bolt off MUCH easier.

Getting ready to install new OME HD (CS035RA) leaf springs and N36 shocks on my 99 Classic. Unpacked the leafs today and one was marked "+", and the other was marked "-". What's the difference between the two? Is one designated for the driver side?

Sorry, I dont want to hijack... but I'm having this problem.

I'm tired as of now and will get back under the jeep tomorrow but I'm having a problem with my sye install. I'm trying to remove the front yoke from my tcase but when I try to loosen the retaining nut the whole yoke slips. Almost as if a gear inside the case is slipping, allowing the yoke to move. The jeep is in 4hi in park. I haven't tried 4low, maybe this is what I need to do? It only takes a little bit of force to cause the yoke to slip. How do I loosen the bolt?

Get a large pipe wrench and hold it still.

I found a nice set of 15 inch jeep wheels with 30's. Will they fit my stock 89 base cherokee without doing any modification right now?

They will rub a little, you could give the fenders a little trim, or drive easy until you lift it.

For my rear suspension I want roughy 4-4-5" of lift. I want to use OME leaf springs for 2" of lift, RC adj shackles, and HD shackle relocators.

For the springs what is the difference in the light and medium load? Both give 2" of lift and are the same price from what I see. What would be best for me?

Every instruction set I've read says put it in 4Lo before starting.

The spring rate is different. Medium is a higher spring rate to make up for armor or heavy bumpers so you still achieve 2" of lift. You may actually get more lift from the medium load springs, but i dunno for sure.

I found some 33" Iroks with 99% tread for $800 - cheaper than the set of M/Ts I was looking at - however I drive my jeep on-road more often than off-road. I realize the tread will last longer as jeeps are light rigs, but how would these handle on-road? About how long am I looking at for tread life compared to some M/Ts?

They'll drive just fine on road, but they wont last very long at all compared to your other less aggressive MT tires. If i had to put a guess on their tread life on road, i'd probably put them at anywhere from 15k-25k. 25k being VERY generous.
