My brother has the super 44 and it doesn't seem that loud to me. But i don't know much about glasspacks. 44 is more of a aggressive tone. Just check youtube for some videos so you can get an idea.

Would running the exhaust to the back reduce the drone/ noise level of a flow master, I have it dumping straight out of the flow master now or would a turn down do any good?

You are right, I might as well start with the cheaper end of it and go from there. The pre-cat alone is $200-$300 depending on who has them. The other cat is about $75.

It depends on what you get. My dad's cherokee has a 30" cherry bomb and it's got a nice smooth tone, no rasp at all, and not even that loud. My old exhaust though, that wasn't anything to brag about. I had a blown out 18" glass pack dumped at the axle. It was just loud. I do want to try an 8" gp though.....

This. It has a video of one on a 2010 sierra, and my jeep sounds similar, but not quite as raspy. Just as deep of a sound though and no drone when cruising.
