Ordered my exhaust components from the front cats back (manifold back) for less than $600 today!

It will be a combination of AP Exhaust, Walker, Magnaflow and Performance Curve.

Hoping it all arrives before this weekend so I can put it on.

Default dB Level Restrictions

What is the strictest exhauts/muffler dB restrictions in the US? I dont like a stupid loud muffler but I'd like to know what I could work with. I live in SC, so i should be fine with whatever I get, but say I want to go out on the roads somewhere else. Dont feel like getting pulled.

Idk about your questions, but the flowmaster 50 or cherry bomb pro would both be good choices for what you're looking for.

Default Hanging low

Hello, my exhaust is the cherrybomb. and it hangs out from under the transfer case where the drive shaft goes to the rear diff. and the pipe off of the header is sitting on that crossbeam right below the transfer case. Anyways, how can i hang it up? cause the cherry bomb is like angled down and its like 6 inches down. and its not bent or loose.

Any help will be usefull, thanks

and on top of that, I tried to take a floor jack and push it up, and then tie it off with this like tie wire stuff. but it didn't work, cause you would tighten the wire but then as soon as you loosen and let down the floor jack it just comes straight back down to where it was before

I got a Mac Flowpath - on the recommendation of a forum guy. My friends tell me it sounds good (but they're all guys. No disrespect intended). But to me it sounds like I have had a hole in my muffler for years now. I need something quieter.

Dude, You have to have hangers on your system or it will end up on the road. There should be one on top of the TC cross member and one behind the muffler. The Cherry Bomb you need is straight on both ends. you can still use the one you have if you heat and bend the inlet and outlet. This will get it up intro stock position.

well, i just bought it, and the guy before me like jerry rigged everything. And since the muffler is not at the back of the truck i think im going to buy some exhaust piping or something and run a pipe to the back and slap on a chrome tip, and then i will make or buy some brackets to hang it on

never mind. i got it fixed. I went up to my local napa and got a adjustable hanger and then a foot long curved elbow that is like silver. I was going to put the hanger on the old seatbelt bolt but then i decided to drill a hole next to it (because im in the process of painting my floor) and bolt it to it. then the elbow sticks out from under the frame by the rear passenger door and it looks sick. thanks for the help

Hey, I just installed my performance curve/flowmaster catback today and after taking a short cruise I smelt something burning so I look under my car and the pipe has smoke coming from it. I immediately turned off the xj. Not sure what this could be...anyhelp? Thanks, Rob
