How important is that factory bend in the exhaust system? Mine's been out since I bought the XJ, since it fell off. I'm adding a muffler to my setup soon and will be finally welding my exhaust together. I was wondering if that bend is crucial for the XJ.

We probably are. It's the tailpipe bend near the tank. I have a Magnaflow Hi Flow, is it crucial I have that, or a similar bend?

Wait after the muffler? I just have a turndown, none of that matters. I was talking about the bend in the down pipe after the flange from the headers lol. After the muffler just do whatever you want basically

Oh, OK lol. I've been doing a cat back for awhile, and I'm adding a Super 44, and was wondering if I needed that factory bend in the tailpipe lol.

Thanks man!

I hear Dynomax makes a pretty quiet muffler. I think Walkers are either stock replacement or just really close as well.

i agree with you that there wold be a power gain, 4l, 5l, 2.5l doesnt matter. i just think that the data seems inaccurate to our engines, and that we cant judge performance gains on a different engine. but i could be completely wrong, and if i do so that would be great because i love learning new stuff. on another note would you reccommend borla over other brands based on the gains you have seen? im going exhaust shopping

You can't smell carbon monoxide, it just kills you. Also if you dump it right under the cab it will echo right under there and drone really bad. Just run straight pipe to side dump, or glass pack to side dump to keep it legal.
