Lol found myself doing the same thing due to my new exhaust note!

Really though, its hard to say. It could be just the gas that you put in recently isn't as good. I'd wait a few more tanks before declaring a new average.
Well I put the muffler on back in April. It's almost June. I've had weeks where I get 14 and at best 17. But the first week I had the jeep I got 19. No change in fuel type, same route. Only difference was that muffler.

I replaced the air filter which was BLACK, I replaced the plugs and plug wires. The plugs were all corroded and nasty. Same with the inside of the plug wires. Today I'm gonna do an oil change. But I have a leak from I'm assuming the oil filter, and I have a coolant leak. I also replaced both top and bottom radiator hoses because one after another they shot leaks. Since I've bought the jeep it's been an uphill battle with maintenance.

Default Heat Shields?

I am in the process of replacing my floors and the rusted out portion on the passenger side goes right in line with all the components of my exhaust. The metal panels I am putting down are sufficient but I still get a lot of heat from the floor.
Question is whether a 91 XJ ever had heat shields for the muffler and cat? Neither have one.
I realize this is loosely related to exhaust but I need to know if I am missing parts off of my used truck.
Thanks

Catalytic converter should have a heat shield. Granite the cat gets really hot so the heat shield doesn't do as much as you would think

I'm about to replace my cat back exhaust on my 98 XJ, I'm looking for a muffler thats a little louder than stock but not so obnoxious that you can hear it from miles away. Not looking to spend a lot on anything fancy, just looking for a little better sound. Any suggestions?

2.5" spun cat, FM 40 and 2.5" tail pipe from performance curve. Not a whole lot louder, but much better tone and you know it's there. But you can still hold a conversation in the cab.

I like the sound of the cheaper one, I wonder how it sounds inside the cab though. Let me know if they send you a video of the inside sound.
