Most of the shops I called here quoted me $400. I'd pay 225 in a heartbeat.

And some people have had them crack too, so put a flex joint in there too.

EDIT: BTW, if you go straight piped, put 2.5" pipe on it, and the $65 cat from my above post on there along with a 4"x18" tip. That thing will SCREAM!
thanks for the input...
how bout this headers....
im using the motor for off road competition where need a lot more torque and low end rpm power.... also a lot of towing and winching....

Cam it, a header won't increase it that much. Plus those all seem to be short tubes so the increase may be in the higher rpm. The 4.0 is already a torque monster (relatively speaking). I drove my school's ranger the other day with the 4.0 V6 and it has no low end.

I'm looking to perform a nice exhaust set up as my recently purchased XJ it's just too darn quiet. I'm use to a loud Subaru so I'd like some "tuned" noise.

So my question is: what do you folks consider the best route for a header? I really like the Banks Revolver but it's pretty pricey. What about the APN header? It looks pretty nice and cost about what I was thinking of paying? Anything else.

Tuned? Jeep? What sound do you prefer? Smooth would come from a magnaflow or a bigger glasspack, and lopey would come from a chambered muffler or smaller glasspack. Apn is a good choice, you get more than your money's worth.

Ha, touche sir. I guess what I meant by "tuned" was smooth.

I'm 98% certain that I'll run a Vibrant muffler. I've never really been a fan of Magnaflow and Flowmasters are, well, kind of cruddy.

My real debate is in regards to header. Would you say the APN is better than the Banks?

Check this out:

The APN is made out of really heavy gauge steel, idk about banks. APN cost $10 more than an OEM replacement though so I'd go with that.

Spintech 9000s have a smooth tone too btw, and they're very compact.

Can I bolt this on with a stock Cat, do they sell pipes that start at 2.25 and go to 2.5?

Possibly, but most part stores have adapters

I have performance curve's version and it sounds pretty good. My apartment manager really likes it. I get the loud bark, and the cops get their lack of 'sharp clacking and popping'... Lol best of the legal side I guess. It drones like hell though, I might just throw a glasspack in its place for how bad it drones.

I thought they looked similar... I know the APNs are 321 stainless, but I'm not too up on metallurgy

321 is decent but its not 409 like banks. 409 is easier to polish. I may get the APN ceramic coated then wrapped with header wrap before I install
