compared to the 130 dollar exhaust manifold and the 480 banks manifold, performance wise do you think its worth the extra money?

Not on a 4.0L. Maybe if it was a cammed stroker or s/c.

Mine does not sound like rice. With a 2.5" mandrel bent down pipe , 2.5" highflow cat, 2.5" magnaflow 4"x18" round muffler and 2.5" mandrel bent tail pipe. I am sure when I install my header that arrived today it still will not sound like rice. Now a 2.5l powered Xj I can see it sounding like rice but not a 4.0

The APN header came today, Overall quality is good. I do wish the runners were fully welded around on the outside but I assume they were not due to excessive heat when welding which could make the material prone to crack. But other then that they seem great ! With my curse of needing to modify everything I own , I couldn't leave well enough alone. I could not resist the urge to Ceramic coat the header .

They weren't welded fully around? That's bizarres. Did you check the fit first? I had to modify mine to get it to clear the intake mani, id hate to have you ruin that ceramic coating!

Ain't no shame in that I wish I would've ceramic coated mine instead of paint though.

On the inside of where they meet the flange they were fully welded , But on the outside they were not fully welded all the way around on the flange everywhere else they are .

No I did not test fit because I know that there is a good chance I may have to grind the intake manifold a little since I have a Early 99.
