Based reading through this thread, I just ordered an exhaust system from Performance Curve. Went with the Flowmaster Super 44 and Thunderbolt O2 OBDII 608396. Did I select the right cat?

Also, do these setups come with the hangers already welded to the pipes?
Probably have to weld the mt yourself and the muffler/cat sounds like a good plan

Hey, I own a stock 1995 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 Inline 6 in it. I was wondering what exhaust i should put in it, and to get a better sound do I only need to replace my muffler, or should i buy a full cat back. In a sense, I'm looking for recommendations on what to buy that would give me a nice deep, throaty tone, and to do it with relative cost efficiency

I put one of these systems on my '96 last yr and luv it. I did go with band clamps instead of the ones with the kit which would work also.

I'm going to assume my question should go here, it's somewhat exhaust related, so here goes- went to the exhaust shop yesterday to get the f'n cherry bomb that the PO put on my 97 replaced with something not so drone-y at any given speed. While there, I mentioned that I've got an exhaust leak, they checked it, and the (aftermarket) header is apparently cracked. They said that they could repair it, but that I would have to take it off first & bring it to them. I'm of the opinion that if I take a cracked one off, I'm going to replace it with a new one. So I ordered a Gibson header off of amazon last night, and will be putting that on instead. here's the question- I understand most folks opt to replace the motor mount while doing this, since it will be off anyway, but if my mounts are fine, would it really be to any benefit to replace the mount? also, since they are good, if I opt to replace the driver's side mount, can I avoid replacing the other until there is an actual issue, or is it absolute necessity to replace both?

-All of that being said, I realize that if you replace one wear item and there are a multiples of it, you should replace all of them, but I would probably rather do the M.O.R.E. torsion mounts in the not too distant future, and would hate to put money in mounts that will not be there in a month or two.

USEFUL observations, suggestions etc. are appreciated!

Wrong place for your question, but I'll answer it anyway. If your motor mounts are the ones that came from the factory, yes replace them. They often look fine when they're really not. Yes do all rubber mounts; both motor mounts and the transmission mount.

Ok, and my follow up question that ties back to exhaust is- I assume this is to prevent further manifold cracking, correct?

Keeps your driveline from moving around, which reduces parasitic loss of torque from driveline components. Also saves your manifold like you mentioned, and like austin said u joints. Couple people have had their radiators smashed from the motor sliding forward.

I'm also replacing the radiator with a new jeep one at the same time. I would be most dismayed if that happened. New mounts it is. Thanks guys!

Getting ready to order an exhaust flex pipe to install in a new down pipe it will be welded. Which kind? With the 3 or 4 inch pipe extensions or without?
